Yanshan University is referred to as "Yanda". Located in Qinhuangdao, a coastal open city with beautiful scenery in the east of Hebei Province, it is named Yanshan University because it faces Yanshan in the north and Bohai Sea in the south. 1978 has been identified as a national key university, and it is one of the 24 universities expanded by the President's Association of China Graduate School. Yanda University originated from Harbin Institute of Technology and was founded in 1920. 1958, the Department of Heavy Machinery of Harbin Institute of Technology and related majors moved to Fulaerji District, Qiqihar City, an important industrial town, and established the Institute of Heavy Machinery of Harbin Institute of Technology, adjacent to China No.1 Heavy Machinery Group Company, which is known as the "eldest son of the country". 1960 Independent College, named Northeast Heavy Machinery Institute, is one of the four national key universities directly under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry. From 1985 to 1997, the whole school moved south to Qinhuangdao and was renamed Yanshan University from 1997. 20 14 Yanshan University was established by Hebei Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Education.
