Tang Peisong's Contribution and Honor
For more than half a century, Tang Peisong has published three works and more than 200 papers on plant physiology and biochemistry, put forward a systematic view on plant respiration and metabolism, and cultivated a large number of plant physiologists. He is one of the founders of plant physiology in China and has made outstanding contributions to the development of plant physiology in China. 1948 was elected as an academician of academia sinica, and 1955 was elected as an academician of China academy of sciences. He was also elected as a deputy to the Third National People's Congress, a member of the Seventh China People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of botanical society of china, honorary chairman and honorary chairman of the China Plant Physiology Society.

Tang Peisong is a world-famous plant physiologist. Because of its contribution to plant respiration, metabolism and photosynthesis, it was elected as an honorary member of the American Plant Physiology Society on 1975, and later as an honorary member of the American Botanical Society. He was also invited to serve as the editorial board of the international magazine Photochemistry and Photobiology. It is particularly worth pointing out that when he was 80 years old in 1983, the international publication AnnualReviewofPlantPhysiology specially invited him to write a memoir-style article, which was published at the top of the magazine's 34 volumes. Since the mid-1960s, this journal has specially invited a respected scientist who has made outstanding contributions to plant physiology to write such a paper as the first one, and published the author's photo on the title page as a souvenir. So far, Tang Peisong is the only person in China who has won this honor.
