After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Liu Shi successively served as Minister of Education of Jiangxi Province, Chief Instructor of Major General of National Chung Cheng University, Director of Supervision Office of Major General of Jiangxi Branch of Central Training Corps, and Chief of Staff of Second Column. 1948 was elected as the "first legislator" of the Central Committee of the National Government in the second electoral district of Jiangxi Province (under the jurisdiction of Yichun and Ji 'an) as a "non-KMT default". After he went to Taiwan Province Province from 65438 to 0949, he spent more than 40 years in the "Legislative Yuan" of Taiwan Province. In his spare time, he worked as a lawyer and served the people for free. He also funded the establishment of Zhang Yu Institute of Technology and Business and served as the chairman. With his seniority and prestige, he was elected as the president of Jiangxi Fellowship Association, and made active efforts to strengthen ties with fellow villagers in Taiwan Province. He was awarded an honorary doctor of law from Meijiang University, England, and his resume was included in the Who's Who in the World in Cambridge, England. He reads widely and his calligraphy is mostly collected by Japanese and American friends. His works include "On Guerrilla War" and other three books. He is good at poetry and has published personal poems.
Liu Shi visited relatives in his hometown twice in 1990 and 1993, which was welcomed by the masses and received by provincial, prefectural and county leaders. He was very excited and wrote "Unite the people's strength and strive for the early completion of the great cause of peaceful reunification". He also cooperated with Taiwan Province compatriots, donated more than 700,000 yuan to public welfare undertakings in his hometown, built Zifu Bridge, Wanzai County Library, Luzhou Primary School Teaching Building, Jiangduo Village Water Diversion Aqueduct and other projects (he personally donated more than 300,000 yuan), and encouraged his children to set up four joint ventures in Shanghai, Zhejiang and Hebei. He holds an American green card, but he still serves as a member of "China Unification Promotion Association" in Taiwan Province Province. He resolutely opposed Taiwan independence's forces, resisted all kinds of pressures and made every effort for the great cause of the motherland's reunification. His patriotic and homesick deeds were published in various newspapers and periodicals in mainland China. 1At 9: 00 on September 24th, 997, Liu Shi died in Taiwan Province Province.
