Zhang, male, from Xunyi County, Shaanxi Province, worked as a teacher, film projectionist, cultural center creator and county news officer. He worked as a reporter and stationmaster in China Youth Daily for more than 20 years. He has published more than 3,000 works in newspapers and periodicals, such as Green Dream and Watching the Tide in the City, and won the first Yanhuang Literature Award for Excellent Editors and Journalists of Shaanxi Provincial Government (1949- 1999).

Zhang is currently the vice chairman of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the vice chairman of the Provincial Calligraphers Association and the vice president of the Provincial Calligraphy Institute. Zhang is a painter, painting flowers and birds and landscapes, and calligraphy is also a major. Hundreds of paintings and calligraphy works were published in newspapers and magazines and selected into more than 40 collections, calendars and desk calendars. Participated in dozens of exhibitions at home and abroad and won many awards. His paper-cut works were exhibited abroad in the early 1990s, and were collected by foreign institutions and friendly people. More than 280 cartoons were published in newspapers and magazines.
