Ming Emperor Mausoleum is located in Fengyang County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. It is the mausoleum of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and Ma Shi, the empress. Zhu Chuyi, Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather, followed Kublai Khan of Yuan Shizu as an official in Mobei, so he chose Taiping Township, which is only 600 miles away from Dadu. The construction of the Ming Tombs began in the second year of Hongwu (1369) and took more than 40 years to complete. It is about 25 kilometers long from north to south and 6.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with an area of about 155 square kilometers, including three Ming Tombs (including the Ming Tombs buried by Zhu Yuanzhang and Ma Huanghou, the Ming Tombs in Zhu Biao and the Ming Tombs in Zhu Yunwen), empresses' tombs and heroes' funerals.
