Dan Jixiang, male, Han nationality, born in July, 1954, from Jiangning, Jiangsu. Senior architect and registered urban planner. 20 12 1 month, president of the Palace Museum. He has served as director of Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau, secretary of Fangshan District Committee, director of Beijing Planning Commission and director of National Cultural Heritage Administration. Member of the 10th and 11th CPPCC, member of Beijing Historical and Cultural City Protection Committee. He graduated from the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, majoring in urban planning and design, and studied under Professor Wu, an academician of the two academies, with a doctorate in engineering. He was hired as a part-time professor and doctoral supervisor by Northwest University and other institutions of higher learning.

As early as 1980- 1984, when I went to study in Japan, I began to study the protection planning of historical cities and historical and cultural blocks. 1994- 1997 presided over the planning and implementation of the protection and repair of Tongzi River in the Old Palace, the protection and repair of Yuanmingyuan Site and the protection and repair of Beijing City Wall Site in the Ming Dynasty, and achieved good implementation results. From 2000 to 2002, he presided over the planning of 25 historical and cultural protection areas in the old city of Beijing, the protection plan of the imperial city of Beijing, the protection plan of the famous historical and cultural city of Beijing and the master plan of Beijing Olympic Park, all of which have been approved and implemented by the Beijing Municipal Government.

Since 2002, we have actively advocated, promoted and implemented various tasks such as establishing a legal system for cultural relics protection, finding out the base of cultural relics resources, accelerating personnel training and scientific and technological support, and cracking down on illegal crimes in the field of cultural relics protection under the conditions of accelerated urbanization; And promote the protection of industrial heritage, local architecture, 20th century heritage, cultural routes, cultural landscapes and other major sites and new cultural heritage, as well as the research and practice of new museums such as site museums, ecological museums and community museums.

In March 2005, he was awarded the "Outstanding Planning Award" by the American Planning Association.
