Air China is a state-owned enterprise and a central enterprise. Headquartered in Beijing, it is the only civil airline flying the national flag in China. China Air China is referred to as China International Airlines Co., Ltd. and its English name is Air China Limited. Its predecessor, China International Airlines, was established in 1988.

Air China is a member of Star Alliance, the largest aviation alliance in the world. It is also the official air passenger transport partner of the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games and the official air passenger transport partner of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games.

In all aspects of air passenger transport, freight transport and related services, it is in a leading position in China.

The logo of China International Airlines consists of an artistic phoenix, China International Airlines inscribed by Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of China's reform and opening up, and China International Airlines in English.

The symbol of Air China is Phoenix, which is also the artistic transformation of English "VIP" (distinguished guest). The color is China traditional scarlet, which symbolizes auspiciousness, perfection, peace and happiness, and reflects the sincere feelings of Air China people in serving the society and their eternal pursuit of safety.
