This idiom is not from the official history, but from a wonderful book, The Story of Hanwu, which tells the story of Liu Zhi, the young king of Jiaodong, the daughter of the Emperor of the Later Han Dynasty, and Chen Ajiao, the princess of Guantao. The original text of the book is: "If Gillian is a wife, it will be kept as a golden house."

The reason why Chen Ajiao was abolished is from the period of Emperor Wen. After Emperor Wendi ascended the throne, in order to prevent the consorts from dominating the family, they fostered the families of their mother, Queen Bo, and Queen Dou, respectively, so that the two consorts restricted each other. At that time, the power structure was two consorts groups, namely, the central hero group and the local warlord Liu group.

The main reason lies in the forces behind Chen Ajiao. Emperor Wu is an ambitious emperor. After he ascended the throne, he will certainly foster new consorts and new interest groups. Chen Ajiao himself was born in an active Chen family, as well as a consort like Dou Taihou. It is impossible for Emperor Wu to support them.
