Resume Zheng Nanning, born in Jiangsu, China from 65438 to 0952. 1975 graduated from the electrical engineering department of Xi Jiaotong University, 198 1 obtained the master's degree in automatic control from Xi Jiaotong University. 1985 received a doctorate in engineering from Keio University in Japan. He is currently a professor at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of Xi Jiaotong University. Since August 2003, he has been the president of Xi Jiaotong University. 1999 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Engineering.
Professor Zheng Nanning used to be the vice president of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Xi Jiaotong University, and now he is also the chief scientist of the National 863 Expert Committee in the field of high-tech information technology, a member of the the State Council Academic Degree Committee and the chairman of Shaanxi Science and Technology Association. Since 2000, he has served as the China representative of the Council of the International Pattern Recognition Association, the executive deputy editor-in-chief of Science Bulletin in China, and the member of the Expert Advisory Committee of Microsoft Research Asia.
Academic and scientific research achievements
Professor Zheng Nanning has been engaged in applied basic theory and engineering technology research in the fields of pattern recognition, machine vision and image processing for a long time. He presided over the completion of a number of important scientific research projects, such as national science and technology research, 863 high technology, national natural science foundation and national defense research.
Professor Zheng Nanning has won two second prizes for national scientific and technological progress, a fourth prize for national invention and a joint scientific and technological progress prize in He Liang. /kloc-0 won the second youth science and technology award in China in 1990, and/kloc-0 won the China young scientist award in 1996. In June 2005, 1 1 was elected as a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Fellow) for its outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of information processing.
