Shu Tong, 1905, from dongxiang county. As a teenager, he pursued truth. Under the influence of the May 4th Movement, he and his classmates formed the "Golden Orchard Society" and founded the progressive publication "The Voice of Teachers", which became the disseminator of local new ideas and new cultures. At the age of 20, he wrote The True Face of the Republic of China, which exposed the hypocritical nature of Beiyang warlords and showed the fearless revolutionary spirit. 1926, Shu Tong joined China * * * as Dongxiang County Party Secretary to lead the mass movement. 1In September, 930, Shu Tong joined the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants and experienced the first to fifth counter-campaigns against "encirclement and suppression" and the 25,000-mile long March. In the early days of liberation, Shu Tong successively served as member of the Standing Committee of the East China Bureau of the Communist Party of China, minister of propaganda, director of the Culture and Education Committee of the East China Military and Political Commission, president of the East China People's Revolutionary University and president of Jiefang Daily, showing great revolutionary enthusiasm and selfless work spirit.
