The urgent need for composition
I'll give you a few at once, there's always something you like.

Great wisdom is stupid, and great stupidity is wise.

People are divided into smart people and stupid people; Both of them are smart people, with great cleverness and little cleverness; People who are both confused can be divided into true confusion and false confusion.

Wisdom and stupidity have a great influence on one's life and destiny. "Smart all one's life, confused for a while", saying that smart people sometimes do stupid things; "No matter how clever a person is, he is stupid" and "it is hard to be confused", saying that really smart people are often stupid on the surface. This is a wise life, and a clever mind will keep your mouth shut; And "cleverness is mistaken by cleverness" reveals the retribution of smart people.

"If you are brave, you are as smart as a fool." This is Su Shi's point of view. He said in "Enlightenment from Ouyang and Shao Shi": "If you can't finish your words before you can, you will be brave and timid, and you will be as smart as a fool." We can understand that we can use wisdom to avoid things we don't want to do. We are brave, but we pretend to be timid. We are smart and play dumb, so that we can preserve our personality and not go with the flow. A true man of great wisdom and courage does not have to be ostentatious, but depends on his strength. Li Zhi also has a similar view: "To cover the confluence of many rivers, it is necessary to make it bigger;" Earth-rock construction, solid service. Therefore, great wisdom is stupid. "All rivers merge and become big, and the earth and stone are built together and solid. This is stupid wisdom.

Both Taoism and Confucianism in ancient China advocated "great wisdom is foolish" and "keeping foolish". In The Analects of Confucius, Yan Hui, a disciple of Confucius, said that he would be "stupid" and was deeply loved by teachers. He looks passive and in a daze, but in fact he works hard, so he can always make the teacher's teaching clear and organized after class. It can be seen that if you are stupid, then you are not really stupid. Smart and stupid people give the impression that they are open-minded, generous and harmonious, even a little slow. In fact, behind the "stupidity", there is real great wisdom and great wisdom.

Even the smartest person is stupid, which is really a wise life.

1. Chaos is rare.

A seal of Zheng Banqiao, a writer and painter in Qing Dynasty, is engraved with four "inseparable" seal characters. The so-called "rare confusion" is actually the clearest. It is precisely because he saw it too clearly, too clearly and too thoroughly, but he couldn't explain why. If he explains, he will be annoyed, so he will play dumb or seek to escape.

There are indeed many things in real life that can't be too serious. Especially when it comes to interpersonal relationships, it is complicated, intertwined and too serious. They are either pulling their arms or moving their muscles. The more complicated, the more chaotic. Let nature take its course, pretend to be confused once, without losing principle and personality; For the sake of the public and the long-term, it is worthwhile to endure for a while and be wronged. If you know what you are, you are not a barren mountain. Sometimes when things get to that point, just play with wisdom and give him a superficial "fuzzy mathematics", which makes him puzzled. This is also a kind of "rare confusion". When evaluating and promoting, a candidate gives you a face-to-face opportunity to win your "public opinion". You know he is not qualified, but it is not good to spoil his fun. What should you do at this time? When you draw "O", you don't hum, laugh, be serious or lose principle. It seems that personality has not been lost. As soon as the customer asks, he points out his shortcomings frankly and goes with the flow without asking. "Inseparable" is a magic formula, which can not only avoid unnecessary personnel disputes, but also maintain a pure personality.

As a "complaint", "inseparable" is originally caused by "unfairness". The world is unfair, the personnel are unfair and the treatment is unfair. If you want to eradicate all kinds of injustice, it is impossible, or you are incompetent, then you have to sacrifice this "muddleheaded" banner to cover up the injustice in your heart. If people can call him crazy and laugh at him as crazy as Jigong, but he doesn't mind at all, he can still eat wine and meat. "Where there is injustice, there is no me." He only "teases" dignitaries, seeks justice for the poor and weak, and enjoys himself. This half-awake, half-drunk, drunk and awake madness can be regarded as a kind of "confusion". This confusion is really "participation" and "enlightenment". Therefore, when you face the reality, you should learn from the smiling Maitreya Buddha and "laugh at the ridiculous people in the world and tolerate the unbearable things in the world", then you will enter a transcendental realm.

2. Concealing cleverness is better than ignorance.

The ancients said: "The eagle stands like a sleep, and the tiger walks like a disease. It's his magic that catches birds and eats people. Therefore, a gentleman must be smart and talented, and there must be a long way to go. " This can probably vividly interpret the specific meaning of the sentence "hide cleverness over clumsiness, and use gloom to illuminate". Generally speaking, human nature likes and dislikes, but ambitious people don't have clever contingency to achieve their goals, especially when their environment is not satisfactory, and they need clever contingency to avoid being disgusted by others, so they have various ways to deal with it. Cao Pi's beautiful essay "Weeping for Cao Zhi" is an example, and so is Yang Guifei's adopted son An Lushan.

There is also a positive "clumsiness." For example, Li Xun, an important official in the early Tang Dynasty, was originally a subordinate of Shi Biao; At the beginning, the forces between Shi Biao and his father and son were intrigued, but Shi Biao was later defeated by Wang, and he followed in the footsteps of his father and son. At this point, the world trend has become clear. Jie Li knew that only by gaining the absolute trust of Tang Gaozu's father and son would there be a future, so he arranged such an action: according to his geographical population map of counties and counties, "East to the sea, south to Linjiang, west to Ruzhou and north to Wei Jun", he sent people to Guanzhong to dedicate it to Shi Biao in front of Tang Gaozu, saying that since Shi Biao had made up his mind to surrender, all the well-founded land population would surrender with his master, otherwise it would be self-help. Hearing this, Tang Gaozu felt deeply that Li Xun must be a loyal minister if he could be so loyal to the Lord. After Li Xun returned to the Tang Dynasty, he was quickly reused by the Tang and Yuan Dynasties. However, after Shi Mi surrendered to the Tang Dynasty, he was filled with resentment and soon turned against the Tang Dynasty, so he "suppressed" the matter unfinished. It stands to reason that it is too late for ordinary people to avoid suspicion at this time, but Li Xun openly invited him to receive and bury Shi Mi-only "public" can add color to his "righteousness". Assuming that he is furtive, it may be counterproductive-"Take the classics of decline and bury honey with the old current soldiers in Shan Zhinan, Li, and the grave is seven meters high." Speaking of it, this is purely for the living. Shi Mi is dead. Do you blame it? On the surface, it seems to hinder the face of the Tang emperor, which is a kind of loyalty to Jie Li. In fact, Jie Li had expected this.

This move will have the same magical effect as the previous population. Sure enough, The Righteousness of Ruling and Ruling publicly recommended him as an extremely forbearing gentleman. From then on, Li Xun was highly valued by the court and was as kind as a mountain to III. Li Xun adopted the psychological effect of "negative gains positive"; It caters to people who generally don't believe in the sweet words spoken directly to themselves, but believe in the quality that a person shows when getting along with others, that is, the result of side observation, especially to people who generally like to get rid of the human weakness that ordinary people are most likely to show, seek good fortune and avoid evil, and be treacherous and changeable. It seems straightforward, but in fact it is of great significance, and it is a typical success in life.

Li Bai has an intriguing poem called "The Great Sage Tiger became stupid and unpredictable, and he was quite like an ordinary person in those days", which reveals another way of dealing with the world in a bad sense. This means that in some special occasions, people should be as flexible as tigers in the forest and dragons in the pool, which is hard to predict, and they can also act calmly. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang adopted the advice of the old man and Zhu Sheng, and gained the time and strength to divide and conquer each other with the strategy of "building a high wall, widely accumulating grain, and slowly claiming the title of king", so as to avoid becoming the target of public criticism because of the combination of heroes, and finally become the ancestors of Ming Dynasty together.

The above are typical examples of some typical characters. But for ordinary people, the ancients also believed that there should be an inclusive and dignified mind and tolerance. There is a famous saying: take the image from the money, the outer circle is inside. Everyone knows the round hole of ancient coins. When dealing with people, this is the money. The "edge" should be round and flexible, but the "heart" should be kept, which has its own purpose and principle. For example, if you don't like the surrounding environment and people, you can be less exposed and show your uniqueness. "You don't have to be the same as the vulgar, you shouldn't be different from the vulgar, and you don't have to be happy or disgusting when you do things." In other words, you can keep your integrity and protect yourself.

3. Liang Jia is hiding in Xu Ruo.

There is a story in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in which Cao Cao talks about heroes by cooking wine. At that time, Liu Bei was in trouble and took refuge in Cao Cao, who received Liu Bei sincerely. Liu Bei lived in Xudu. After signing the imperial edict, he planted vegetables in the backyard, watered himself, confused Cao Cao and relaxed his sight. One day, Cao Cao invited Liu Bei into the house to drink, talking about the dragon-shaped man and discussing who is the hero in the world. Liu Bei visited Yuan Shu, Yuan Shao, Liu Biao, Sun Ce, Liu Zhang, Zhang Xiu, Zhang Lu and Han Sui, all of whom were despised by Cao Cao. Cao Cao pointed out that the standard of a hero is "having ambition, having good strategies, having the opportunity to hide the universe and breathing in and out of the world." Liu Bei asked, "Who should it be?" Cao Cao said that only Liu Bei and he were. Liu Bei, who lives in Xudu with a low profile, threw his spoon to the ground in fear after Cao Cao discovered that he was a hero. It happened that the heavy rain was coming and the thunder was loud. Liu Bei calmly picked up the spoon and said, "The power of the earthquake is even here." Cleverly hide your confusion in the past. Thus avoiding a disaster. Liu Bei answered the hero's question skillfully when he was cooking wine.

Liu Bei hides his secrets, but he doesn't exaggerate, show off, brag, be arrogant or pretend to be deaf, so he doesn't count himself as a "hero". This method is very reassuring. His vegetable growers and his heroes restrained their behavior at least on the surface. One should not be too arrogant in the world.

When Confucius was young, he was taught by Laozi. At that time, Lao Tzu told him: "A good man hides Xu Ruo, but a gentleman is virtuous and foolish." That is, businessmen who are good at doing business always hide their treasures and are not easy to be seen; A gentleman, on the other hand, is noble in character but stupid in appearance. Its profound meaning is to warn people that it is useless to show off their abilities too much and abuse their common wishes or energy without restraint.

In old shops in China, expensive goods are not displayed in the storefront, but the shopkeeper always keeps them away. Only when you meet people with money and knowledge will you tell them that good things are in it. There is no reason why thieves don't care if they casually put the fine products on the shiny surface. It is not only a commodity, but also a person's talent. As the saying goes, "All bets are off, but modest gains are made". A talented person who likes to show off himself will inevitably arouse the resentment of others, so he suffered a big loss unconsciously. Therefore, no matter how talented you are, you should be good at hiding, that is, the realm that seems to be absent on the surface, but is actually full.

4. Little things are confusing, big things are clear

One shouldn't haggle over everything in life. When he is confused, he should be smart. There is an idiom called "Lv Duan is not confused in major events", which means playing dumb in minor matters, not playing tricks, and showing great wisdom and cleverness only at critical moments. There were many such fools in ancient China.

Han Qi, the prime minister of the Song Dynasty, is famous for his dignified character and pursues the principle of being lenient with others. His courage has never been praised, but there is really no second person who is miraculous in the following two things. This is the footnote of "A wise head makes a close mouth". Who will guard against such a good guy? Therefore, he can do these two great things silently:

When Song Yingzong just died, courtiers hurriedly called the prince into the palace. Before the prince arrived, Yingzong's hand moved again. Ceng Gongliang, the prime minister, got a fright and told Han Qi, the prime minister, that he would stop the prince from entering the palace. Han Qi refused to say, "If the first emperor is resurrected, he will be the father of a king." Han Qi urged people to be called Prince more and more strongly. So as to avoid power struggle.

As everyone knows, Ren Shouzhong is treacherous and capricious, secretly snooping about wealth and alienating the emperor and the queen mother. One day, Han Qi wrote an empty letter, which was signed by Ouyang Xiu. The more he takes part in politics, the more embarrassed he becomes. He doesn't know what to do. Ouyang Xiu said: "As long as it is written, the Han Palace must have its own version." Sitting in the yamen, Han Qi sent Ren Shouzhong to the imperial court with a document issued directly without going through Zhongshu Province, and let him stand on the imperial court and accuse him: "Your crime deserves the death penalty. Now you have been demoted to assistant ambassador of Zhangzhou Yong Lian, and placed by Zhangzhou. " Han Qi took out an empty letter and filled it out. On the same day, he sent envoys to detain Ren Shouzhong.

Would Ren Shouzhong give in easily if he were another person who likes to play politics? Obviously not, because he also believes Han Qi's story, which has always been honest, without suspecting that there is fraud. In this way, Han Qi easily removed the moth, but remained loyal. So it is really the highest achievement in life, and it is also the grand strategy of life. People who are as smart as fools always have more chances of success.

Yang Kan, a Southern Liang native, was named Zu Xin, a Taishan Liang native. At first, it was the Taishou of Taishan in the Northern Wei Dynasty. Because his grandfather Yang Gui was a brewer of Song Gaozu, Yang Kan wanted to return to the south. On my way home, I went to Liankou and had a big meal. A guest named Zhang Rucai got drunk and lost fire on the boat, burning more than 70 boats and countless gold, silver and property. When Yang Kan heard about it, he almost ignored it and asked everyone to continue drinking. Confucianists were ashamed and afraid, and ran away. Yang Kan sent someone to comfort him and take him back, still treating him as before. Later, Yang Kan returned to the Southern Dynasties and became the army commander of Liang Wudi.

Pei Xia, a native of Jin Dynasty, was a guest at the home of Zhou Fu, a general of Dongping. Zhou Fu is the host, and Peiya plays Go with others. Zhou Fu's Sima urged the wine, Paya was playing with emotions, and the wine handed over was not finished in time. Sima was very angry and thought that he had insulted him, so he dragged Peiyuan conveniently, and as a result, he dragged Peiyuan to the ground. Everyone nearby was shocked and thought it was embarrassing. Who knows, Peiya got up slowly, sat down in her seat, her behavior remained unchanged, her expression was serene, and she continued playing chess as if nothing had happened. Rebecca later asked Peiya why her expression didn't change. Paya replied, "That's just because I'm confused."

Xie Wan, another Jin Dynasty man, is Xie An's younger brother. Once, when arguing with Cai for a seat, Cai pushed Xie Wan down from his seat and almost dropped his hat and headscarf. Xie Wan stood up slowly, patted his clothes, sat back in his seat and said, "You almost hurt my face." Cai said, "Your face has never been considered." Later, neither of them cared about it, and people at that time praised them.

These are all famous stories of forbearance in history. The injured party is not angry and bitter because of his embarrassment and loss. On the contrary, they all showed magnanimity and indifference. As a result, instead of being hurt more, it won everyone's respect and made the injured people feel ashamed.

Even the smartest person is stupid. From a perspective, it can also be understood as a little fool. A big thing is clear. It is a high achievement for individuals. The so-called stupidity is not self-deception, nor self-anesthesia, but deliberately confusing. When you are confused, don't worry about your face, your knowledge, your position and your power. You must be confused. When it's time to be smart and sober, you must be smart. From smart to confused, from confused to smart, you can meet your own needs, so you won't be disturbed by troubles or tired by personnel. In this way, you will have a happy, happy and successful life.

Get rid of your troubles

Persistence and confusion run counter to each other. Zen, especially forbidding persistence.

There is an anecdote that warns people how stupid persistence is.

This was the case when the monks Mazu and Nanyue practiced. One day, monk Nanyue came to visit monk Mazu and said:

"Mazu, what have you been doing recently?"

I meditate every day.

"Oh, so that's it; What is the purpose of your meditation? "

"Of course, become a Buddha!"

Meditation is to observe the true self and realize Buddha. This is the general understanding of meditation, and Mazu also thinks so, so he went to meditation.

But the monk in Nanyue listened to Mazu's words and even brought a tile to grind silently. Mazu felt incredible and asked:

"What the hell do you want!"

Nanyue calmly replied, "Didn't you see me grinding tiles?"

"Why are you grinding tiles?"

"Be a mirror."

"Master, tiles can't be ground into mirrors."

"Mazu, meditation cannot become a Buddha."

Monks in Nanyue told Mazu why meditation can't become a Buddha with the truth that tiles can't be ground into mirrors. The content of this conversation seems to be deceiving children, which is a bit funny, but it is actually far-reaching.

As mentioned above, it is generally believed that meditation is the only way to become a Buddha. So in practice, I attach great importance to meditation and advocate doing it thoroughly; However, Nanyue saw Mazu's daily meditation life, but gave a negative evaluation.

Why?

The implication of Nanyue is to tell Mazu that he is too obsessed with the forms and means of meditation. Although meditation is very meaningful, if you are bound by meditation, your inner freedom will be restricted and controlled, and you will not be able to become a Buddha. Therefore, although the method of meditation is the most important for Zen, once it is too persistent, it needs to be denied.

In this way, from the standpoint of Zen, persistence must be completely denied, otherwise once you fall into persistence, you will get nothing.

In other words, people tend to cling to something and live, but once they hold persistent emotions, they can't really live freely, and they can't seek self-realization with flexible ideas.

So, if you are too persistent about one thing, what will it become? A young man who failed in the college entrance examination was taken to Japan by his mother to meet the monk Guan Dache. In order to enter a first-class university, the young man studied hard since he was a child. But the wall of the first-class university is too thick, and he fails again and again. As a result, he tried to kill himself by taking sleeping pills.

In the minds of young people, they are obsessed with thinking because they have the idea that they would rather die than enter a first-class university. Being admitted to a first-class university is his goal in life. As long as he can fight for it, everything will be smooth sailing. In a word, he was so obsessed with the idea of entering a first-class university that after several failed challenges, he had to choose to die because he could not surmount this obstacle.

Perseverance tends to narrow one's vision. In fact, entering a first-class university is not the whole of life. If you don't think so, many of your powerful ideas will be lost one by one. When you go to extremes, you will choose suicide to deny yourself, just like this young man. That's because my inner persistence has hardened my heart.

Therefore, people must give up persistence, bow their heads and take a step back. This is the intelligent life advocated by muddleheaded learning.

6. Smart sadness

The allusion of "accompanying his wife and overlapping soldiers" comes from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. For those who can't design the whole person, but paste the old one, it is an allegory.

Zhou Yu, a native of Shucheng, Lujiang, was in the same year as Sun Ce, the younger brother of Sun Quan, and had a close friendship. Zhou Yu's life is beautiful, his qualifications are romantic, his appearance is beautiful, and his talent and knowledge are unparalleled. Under the situation that Cao Cao stationed millions of troops to defend the Yangtze River, many people in Wu Dong offered to surrender, and their morale was lax. Without the support of Zhou Gongjin, Wu Dong would belong to Cao Cao.

It is said that Liu Bei lost Mrs. Gan. When Zhou Yu learned the news, he made a plan to let Sun Quan's sister marry Liu Bei, let Liu Bei be his son-in-law, and then put Liu Bei in prison, but sent someone to Jingzhou to find Liu Bei. Waiting for Jingzhou. Deal with Liu Bei again. Lv Fan was sent as a matchmaker to make peace in Jingzhou. I didn't want Zhuge Liang to hear the news, guessed that it was Zhou Yu's plan, and asked Liu Bei for permission. Let Zhao Zilong protect Liu Bei. Before he left, he gave him three tips, including three clever tricks. On the other side of Soochow, Sun Quan's mother heard the news and saw Liu Bei's outstanding talent, but she really wanted to betroth her daughter to him. Zhou Yu and Sun Quan did not want it to come true, nor did they dare to imprison and kill Liu Bei publicly. Liu Bei persuaded Niangzi to go to Jingzhou, and Niangzi agreed, so they agreed to go to the riverside to worship their ancestors and took the opportunity to escape from Soochow. Zhou Yu sent troops to chase after him and was turned back by his wife. Just as Zhou Yu was preparing to put all his eggs in one basket, he saw Zhuge Liang waiting on the shore, and Liu Bei and others had boarded the ship for Jingzhou. The arrow came from the shore, but it went far. Liu Bei's soldiers looked at Wu Bing who was chasing after him and shouted: "Zhou Lang's clever plan is a safe world, but he stayed with his wife and lost his troops!"

Zhou Yu was confident that he would win and didn't want to meet Zhuge Liang. In fact, it is the result of Zhou Yu's cleverness being defeated by others. As the saying goes, "Stealing a chicken doesn't make a mistake", which also shows that cleverness can not only get the final result, but also accompany business, which makes people laugh.

Wang Xifeng in A Dream of Red Mansions can also be regarded as a typical example of "cleverness being mistaken by cleverness" in literary works. Feng is the heroine in Jia Fu. She tried her best to revive Jia's family, or at least to maintain everyone's situation. However, her efforts, her efforts, but in exchange for Jia's dissatisfaction, and finally ended in tragedy. In response to the verdict in the book: "The institution is too smart, but it missed the green life."

In fact, intelligence is a fortune, and the key lies in how to use it: wealth can make people live well or destroy people. Really smart people will use their intelligence on the blade, which is mainly hidden, or not on the blade. Don't use it easily until the heat has passed. Be sure to look youthful and unenviable. Wise thinking is often the root of trouble. No matter what you do, you can't be smart.

Small people who are good at calculating people think they are clever, but they can't last long because of their ulterior motives. It is both deceptive and inconvenient to make it clear, and it is doomed to failure. It is a trick to make a plan for invisible people; The scheming is unpopular and people are angry. Although I have planned it carefully, I still feel guilty. The slightest hint gives me the creeps. And no matter how secret things are, there are airtight walls. Once people know about it, it will be bad for the "wife" to accompany the "soldier". A shrewd man who always reveals everything everywhere will not gain the trust, sympathy, love and training of others, so he will not achieve real and great success.

7. Forget your tricks

There is a fable in Zhuangzi: Zhuang Zhou went to Diaoling Chestnut Garden to play and approached the fence. Suddenly, he saw a strange magpie flying from the south. Its wings are seven feet wide and its eyes are an inch long. It flew over Zhuang Zhou's forehead and stopped in chestnut forest. Zhuangzi said, "What kind of bird is this? Wings are big but they can't fly far, eyes are big and eyes are dull. " So he picked up his clothes, walked quickly over and watched with a slingshot. At this moment, I suddenly saw a cicada, which was covered by beautiful leaves and got carried away: at this moment, a mantis hid under the leaves, stretched out its arm and caught the cicada in one fell swoop. Mantis is going to fight cicada, and he will show the clues when he sees anything; It happened that this strange magpie caught mantis while catching cicadas. The strange magpie didn't realize that her life was in danger because of her interests. Zhuang Zhou was startled and said warily, "Alas! Things are transformed, which is caused by two types of mutual attraction and greed! " Thought of here, drop the slingshot and run back. Just then, the keeper of the orchard thought he had stolen chestnuts, so he chased him and scolded him.

The so-called "mantis catches cicada, yellowbird comes last", and this famous allusion comes from this fable. Draw a conclusion from this fable: If you deliberately plan something else, you will attract something else to kill yourself.

Therefore, only by eliminating the scheming can we avoid being involved in the circular struggle for things.

Others often blindly pursue their own desires and forget their own nature. This is what Zhuangzi said, "Look at the turbid water and be fascinated by the source."

Desire is endless, and satisfaction is always limited, which will inevitably lead to tragic consequences. But this view is unacceptable to modern people, because modern people often indulge in material desires and never return.

Indifferent contentment is not a passive or uncontroversial thought, but contains prudent significance. In Laozi, it is believed that contentment is embodied in the following three points: first, kindness; The second is diligence; Third, I dare not be the first in the world. "One is kindness, the other is frugality, and the third is not being the first in the world. The good can be brave, the frugal can be broad, and dare to be the first in the world, so it can last for a long time. " If a person can do the above three things, he can become a brave, rich and important person.

Some people compare the British with the Japanese, and the conclusion is that the British can make their egoism and others' egoism not conflict and interfere with each other to the maximum extent; On the other hand, Japanese people can't share their happiness with others. From this perspective, the Japanese are either too backward or too obsessed. This is really a terrible shortcoming. In fact, ignoring each other's position and interests and blindly pursuing their own interests may be unimpeded for the time being, but it will never go far, and one day people will fight back.

Lao Tzu strongly emphasized that there must be no such mentality. "The disaster is greater than dissatisfaction, and the blame is greater than desire." This sentence means that the biggest disaster in the world is dissatisfaction; The biggest mistake in the world is greed. People who are too obsessed with the pursuit of fame and fortune will definitely lose a lot. People who accumulate too much material wealth are far less happy than others. Only when you are satisfied will you not feel humiliated, and only when you know enough is enough will you not go to extremes. This is what I said in Laozi: "If you love it very much, it won't cost you anything;" Hiding too much will kill you. " . Knowing enough is not humiliating, knowing that it is not dangerous can last for a long time. "

8. Silence is golden

The ancients believed that to be a truly wise person, there should be a degree of observation. "Good observation is not clear, can you observe it clearly?" What do you mean "you can't observe"? It is in a group of people that only they have insight into the essence of this matter, but some people just don't want you to tell the truth, so they have to pretend not to know, so that they won't be too wise and suffer. During the Spring and Autumn Period, there was a wise man named Ji Simi in the State of Qi. The doctor in power at that time was Tian Chengzi, who had the ambition to steal the country. On one occasion, Tian Chengzi invited him to talk, and they boarded the high platform together to browse the scenery. Ye Ping is vast in east, west, north and south, with panoramic views. However, there is a dense forest in the south, which blocks their view. When Kismi returned home after talking, she immediately asked the servant to take my saw to cut down trees. But just after cutting down a few trees, he told his servant to stop and go home quickly. The family looked at him puzzled and asked him why he was so upset. Ji Simi said, "The wilderness of the country is only listed in a forest in my home. Judging from Tian Chengzi's expression, he wouldn't be happy, so I hurried home and cut it down. But then on second thought, Tian Chengzi didn't say anything to express his dissatisfaction. On the contrary, he won my favor very much. Tian Chengzi is a calculating man. He is ambitious to seek the position of the country, and he is afraid that people smarter than him will see through his mind. In this case, if I cut down a tree, it shows that I have the ability to know and observe, which will make him wary of me. Therefore, not cutting down a tree means that you don't know his mind, which is not a crime and can avoid harm; And cutting down trees means that I can know what others have not said. This disaster is too great! "
