The 23-year-old Mugulaza also became the second Spanish player to win the Wimbledon women's singles title, the first being her coach conchita martinez. In the final of Wimbledon women's singles in 1994, Martinez, who was only 22 years old, beat navratilova martina, who was 37 years old, and won her only Grand Slam title. Twenty-three years later, Mugulaza replicated his mentor's magical journey and defeated the 37-year-old David.
