When was the Buddha born and when was the Buddha nirvana?
1950, the World Buddhist Friendship Association held its first meeting in Colombo, Ceylon, and discussed the historical facts about the birth, enlightenment and nirvana of the Buddha, as well as the era of becoming a monk, awakening and nirvana. Because there is a difference between Buddhism in Southern Buddhism and Buddhism in the North, the common provisions are as follows:

1. Buddha was born on the full moon in May 623 BC;

2. The Buddha became a monk at the age of 29 and 35. In 588 BC, the full moon in May saw the stars enlightened day and night.

Third, the Buddha said that in forty-five years, he was nirvana at the age of eighty, that is, in 543 BC, the full moon entered in May and disappeared at midnight.

Fourth, the Buddhist calendar is counted from the time when the Buddha was nirvana.

In other words, the Buddha was born in 623 BC, enlightened in 588 BC and died in 543 BC.
