The decline of lean
A few days ago, Cao Qiang, former president of China Digital Group, died of illness. He was known as a hero in the broadcasting field before his death.

Pay attention to this word. Not everyone can be thin. I won't repeat this history, it's too long, and other mourning articles have introduced it.

For example, he is based in a province, how the company goes public, and how to enter the whole country, and we can see clues from his name. Well, if you can't start with Chinese characters, then start with Chinese characters, that is, go out of the provincial network and look at the whole country.

Cao Qiang has passed away, and there are many rumors, so it's best not to disturb him.

Tell an anecdote about him, which few people know and share.

According to his friends, when he was young, the local official in charge of Hangzhou was still the "Apple King". As a leader in the special field of radio and television, he naturally reports to the "Apple King".

One day, he was debriefing in the leadership office when he was suddenly informed that something had happened at home.

What is this?

As soon as the child had an accident, he rushed out of the leadership office and returned to his downstairs. He looked up and broke out in a cold sweat. His family lives in a high-rise building, and his only son is hanging two ropes on a pole sticking out from the balcony to dry clothes, sitting on it and swinging. ......

When he ran back to his home more than ten floors, the nanny had collapsed on the ground, crying at a loss, and the child was proudly hanging in the air outside the balcony.

When the child grows up, he is sent to the United States to study. He also wants to go to West Point Military Academy. Naturally, his father disagreed. He was so different from ordinary people when he was a child. If he joins the army, he will still have it.

The little story I told reflects the child's character. I believe that 999 out of 1000 children dare not do such crazy things. Pay attention to my words. This is not bold. I've only heard of this once. A child climbed to more than ten floors and wandered in the air.

People say that like father, like son, this example makes me feel like a son and a father.

Cao Qiang's title of lean is not for nothing. He is bold and enterprising, and has become a trendsetter of that era.

Of course, Cao Qiang's retirement was not smooth sailing; he was only in his early 60s. Just like the former administrative officer who worked in Hangzhou for many years and created an era retired.

He kind of, uh, voluntarily retired.

A few years ago, after he retired, the former party secretary of Lin 'an District succeeded him as chairman.

I remember there was a report in the official media at that time that Huashu finally ended the era of "barbaric growth" and entered a new era led by the new chairman.

Watch your language. Every word of the official media has profound meaning, and "barbaric growth" is actually negative.

In fact, with Cao Qiang's retirement, the elders who founded Huashu together, that is, senior vice presidents and vice presidents, almost all left their jobs voluntarily or were left behind.

There is a reason for this almost thorough cleaning. The dead are gone, and we are not here to gossip about other people's companies and subordinates.

Because I have a very basic cognitive principle, that is, look at the results before discussing right and wrong.

In the twenty years of "barbaric growth", he and his friends really let people enjoy good and advanced products and services, and this result cannot be erased. As a consumer, I can only say that there are merits and demerits, and later generations have comments.

I don't want to participate in the discussion like other media. But we want to draw out our theme, that is, with Cao Qiang's strong personality, he retired in his early 60s. As an outsider, I believe he feels uncomfortable.

I still have a lot of things I want to do, because I am still full of energy. In fact, he started his second venture in full swing immediately after he retired. In this case, he drove the crane to the west.

This is not necessarily a bad thing.

Since ancient times, famous stars have been beautiful, and it is forbidden to see bald heads on earth.

For the strong, dying at work is not necessarily a bad thing.

I know that the man we are talking about today is far away from us. Most of us can't be thin in this life, and we don't want to be thin. I have no ambition or strength.

However, I am afraid that all of us will encounter some mentality that he will encounter.

When I was very young, just after graduation, our reader Z, my boss at that time, talked to me about a very popular topic now.

He said, after you are 30 years old, can you still stand the command of people much younger than you?

What he said is middle-aged mentality.

Our times are developing rapidly and we are mean to middle-aged people.

But middle age is a long time. From your 40 years old to your 65 years old, you can say that you are all middle-aged.

In this long period, not everyone can climb to the management level, not everyone can become a business owner, and not everyone can be as lean as Cao Qiang.

But everyone will go downhill.

Downhill is not a setback. Bankruptcy like Shi Yuzhu's was a setback, because he got up and went higher. But for most people, sooner or later, they will face a problem, that is, going downhill and never going higher.

I once talked to a former colleague, who was recruited when I started my business many years ago.

I am 32 years old and he is 44 years old.

He graduated from Zhejiang University with a bachelor's degree and studied for an MBA in Peking University. Before submitting my resume, I worked in a foreign company as awesome as Ali for nearly 20 years, and I have been at a medium level.

Of course, the enterprise went bankrupt, and he was laid off before it went bankrupt. So I came to submit my resume. I don't want to accept it. Really too old. Except for CEO, there are no more than 40 executives in the company. As you can imagine, his age blends in with the embarrassment of the team.

But our boss suggested it again and again, so he put it in my name.

First, let him make a pre-sale, but he can't. He is not qualified to make products, so he will go into sales. Of course, there is still no performance.

I was embarrassed when I talked to him, because I was worried about his age, so I couldn't say most of the words directly, because I was a chicken thief and didn't want to offend people at ordinary times. But not for several other executives.

For example, our executive vice president is very straightforward. He repeatedly said that he was incompetent in front of me and other colleagues in the office.

Think about it, a 44-year-old man was taught a lesson by people in his thirties, and he was still in front of a group of people in their twenties and thirties, and all the onlookers felt embarrassed.

Later, after two years, I couldn't stand leaving and started my own business.

This is our workplace. When you were young, most people were tolerant of you. What did that sentence say?

The afterlife is awesome. I don't know if the new person is not here today.

But if you haven't achieved anything by the time you are forty, grass-roots work will embarrass a middle-aged person.

In the face of a much younger and energetic boss, a colleague who looks down on himself, and the current situation that energy is declining and it is increasingly difficult to accept new knowledge, there is no way to stop working. This is a torment.

Even if your boss and colleagues are experienced, they can guess your sensitive heart. But after all, you can't be careful what you say or do, and this fragile self-esteem is easily triggered.

You don't have to work if you have money, or you can ask for as little money as possible when you choose to work.

If you ask the company for money as little as possible, the boss will not doubt you and colleagues will not be jealous of you. If you are more tactful, it is possible to endure it for a few more years.

But most people don't think so, and there is no practical operability.

Many times, when people reach middle age, they will be forced to ask for more money, regardless of their actual needs or the few businesses left.

To put it bluntly, at this moment, money is more important than face.

Then putting up with some people and things becomes the only choice.

Our eulogy is very strange. We didn't state the great achievements of others, nor did we gossip when we were in pain, but we talked about a mentality problem.

This is our consistent style, we can see something from the phenomenon and learn something.

If people can always see the difficulties they face after middle age when they are young, they can learn from others' experience.

Then you can at least plan your life in advance.

In fact, whenever you think back, the tears now must be the water that entered your mind that year. Anything planned ten years ago is nothing today.
