Brief introduction of isotope magazine
Isotope is a professional periodical sponsored by Isotope Branch of China Nuclear Society, and it is also the only isotope professional magazine in China. The journal was founded in 1988 and is undertaken by China Institute of Atomic Energy.

The journal is characterized by paying equal attention to innovation and practicality, and combining improvement with popularization. It mainly publishes creative and practical new achievements, new technologies and new experiences of isotope and radiation technology in industrial application, and also publishes articles on the application of isotope technology in science, agriculture and medicine, which comprehensively reflects the development of isotope technology and its theory and practice in various fields of national economy. The aim is to promote the academic exchange of isotope and radiation technology at home and abroad, publicize its economic and social benefits, and promote the application of isotope technology in all aspects of national economic construction.

The journal has columns such as review, radioisotopes and radioactive sources, radiopharmaceuticals and labeled compounds, radioisotope application technology, stable isotope preparation and application technology. The unique fields involved are: the development of isotopes and their preparation; Study on isotope detection technology of petroleum deposits: Industrial isotope instrument development; Environmental protection isotope technology; Application of isotope technology in radiation breeding and soil detection: research and application of medical nuclides in basic medicine and clinical medicine.

Since its inception, the journal has been increasingly influential, welcomed by relevant researchers, teachers and students in colleges and universities, and people from all walks of life engaged in isotope technology and application, and has also attracted the attention of relevant authorities at home and abroad: it has been included by CA in the United States internationally; In China, it was selected as the source periodical by Statistics and Analysis of Scientific Papers in China, Comprehensive Evaluation Database of Chinese Academic Journals, China Journal Network, China Academic Journals (CD-ROM Edition), China Biological Abstracts and China Chemical Abstracts. In March 2004, it was named "China Science and Technology Core Journal" by the Ministry of Science and Technology (valid until March 2006); In April 2004, it was listed as the core periodical of atomic energy technology by Peking University Library.

Different neutron numbers belong to the same species, and the same substance with similar element structure has the same molecular formula, which conforms to the same general structure. The relative molecular weight of simple materials between different atoms is different (phase difference 14n), and it is not necessarily the same substance. The chemical properties are similar, but the physical properties are different. The melting point and density change regularly, and the chemical properties may be similar or very different. There are three examples with different physical properties: H, D, T, 16O, 18O, red phosphorus and white phosphorus, diamond and graphite methane and butane, n-pentane, isopentane and neopentane.
