What is Nanquan?
Generally speaking, Nanquan is the general name of boxing that spreads all over southern China. Nanquan has a long history and its origin can be traced back to more than 400 years ago. There are Guangdong Nanquan, Fujian Nanquan, Guangxi Nanquan, Zhejiang Nanquan, Sichuan Nanquan, Hunan Nanquan, Hubei Nanquan and Jiangxi Nanquan. After the founding of New China, Nanquan was listed as one of the main events of Wushu competition in 196O. There are many kinds of Nanquan in Guangdong, the most famous ones are Hong, Liu, Cai, Li and Mo. Hongjia Boxing: It is a larger sect of Nanquan, which originated in Zhangzhou, southern Fujian, and later spread to Guangdong. It is characterized by steady pace, strong momentum, air thrust, vocal and expiratory assistance. Liu Jiaquan: Popular in Qinzhou, Gaozhou and other places in Guangdong. This kind of boxing is characterized by fast forward and fast backward, left defense and right attack, both offensive and defensive, and flexibility. Moquan: It was popular in Haifeng County earlier. Its characteristics are sideways, inclined shoulders, hanging horses, left bridge and right horse, sinking shoulders and falling shoulders.
