School system:
General Education Certificate Advanced Level (A-Level) lasts for two years:
The first year is called AS level. Students usually choose 3-4 courses that they are best at and are most interested in, and get the AS certificate after passing the exam. The second year is called grade A2. Students can choose three excellent courses in AS level to continue their studies, and obtain A-Level certificates after passing the examination.
Among A-level schools in Britain, private schools are more dominant in teaching quality. Most international students in China also choose private schools, but they usually apply for schools one year in advance. Level courses are also a good step towards the top universities in the world.
Examination time:
A-Level examinations were held in May-June and 10- 1 1 respectively, and the results were announced in August and February respectively.
Examination method:
The examination methods in ordinary high schools are very flexible. Students can choose to take the exam in stages or take all the courses at once. Moreover, there are many exam opportunities in each course, and the final score is calculated by the best one.
Examination place:
Students take the exams in advanced affiliated centers around the country, and self-learners can register for the exams directly at the Cultural and Education Office of the British Embassy (except the United States and Britain).
Examination questions:
A-Level examination questions are uniformly produced by the examination committee to which they belong. The test paper is in English, and students are required to answer it in English.
