From 65438 to 0935, he studied in the High School Attached to Beiping Normal University, joined the League of Chinese Left-wing Writers and participated in the "December 9th Movement".

From 65438 to 0936, he joined the national liberation vanguard of China in Peiping.

1938 to 10, successively served as Minister of Propaganda Department of Jinan District Party Committee, Vice Minister Chuiyang, Standing Committee of the Fourth District Committee of Jinan District, and Minister of Propaganda Department.

From 1943, 1 1, he worked secretly in Beiping, and later served as member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Academic Committee and secretary of the Cultural Committee. After the founding of New China, he served as political secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee, deputy director and director of Political Research Office of Beijing Municipal Committee, minister of education of Beijing Municipal Committee and member of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee.

He was brutally persecuted during the "Cultural Revolution".

1975 to 10 served as deputy director of the Revolutionary Committee of Beijing Iron and Steel Plant and director of Beijing Publishing Bureau.

1April, 1979, served as member of the Party Group and Deputy Secretary-General of China Academy of Sciences.

198 1 Member of the Party Group and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education.

1995 retired.
