Tu Youyou 195 1 was admitted to Peking University Pharmacy Department. 1955 graduated from Beijing Medical College (now peking university health science center). After graduation, he received Chinese medicine training for two and a half years, and has been working in China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (renamed Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2005), during which he was promoted to master tutor and doctoral tutor. At present, he is the chief scientist, lifelong researcher and chief researcher of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, director of artemisinin research and development center, doctoral tutor and winner of the Republic Medal.
