Scenery of Yueyang Tower
In the third year of Yuanjia in the Southern Song Dynasty (426), Yan Yanzhi, assistant minister and great poet of the Chinese Department, passed by Baling and wrote a poem entitled "Returning Zhang Xiangzhou to Shi 'an County in Baling Building", which contained the phrase "Qing Miracle Yueyang", and the name "Yueyang" first appeared in the poem.
After Li Bai wrote poems in the middle Tang Dynasty, it was called "Yueyang Tower". At this time, Baling City has been changed to Yueyang City, and Baling Building has also been called Yueyang Building.
In the spring of the fourth year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1044), Teng was exiled to Yuezhou to learn about military affairs. In the spring of the fifth year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1045), Teng rebuilt Yueyang Tower and planned to build a dike. In October of the first year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty (1078), Yueyang Tower was destroyed by fire. In the spring of the second year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty (1079), Yuezhou formally built Yueyang Tower on behalf of the army. In the eighth year of Yuan Dynasty (1085), Xia Meng and Mi Fei wrote "The Story of Yueyang Tower" as a banner and presented it to book seekers. During the Chongning period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1102 ~1106), Sun Xie, the commander of the well-known army in Yuezhou, rebuilt Yueyang Tower.
In the third year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 129), Yueyang Tower was destroyed by fire. In the fourth year of Qingyuan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 198), Yueyang Tower was rebuilt. On June 21st and 23rd, in the 17th year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1224), Yueyang Tower was destroyed by fire. Yueyang Tower was rebuilt in the 11th year of Southern Song Dynasty (125 1).

Yueyang Tower
General Liu of Wei Ming rebuilt Yueyang Tower from Xuande to Zhengtong in Ming Dynasty (1426 ~ 1438). In the seventh year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1472), Wu Jie, the magistrate of Yuezhou, was rebuilt, and Yueyang Tower was built in May. In the second year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1523), Han Shiying, the magistrate of Yuezhou, rebuilt Yueyang Tower and compiled poems about Yueyang Tower. In the sixth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1527), a flood occurred in May, and the pillars of Yueyang Tower were broken by lightning. In the forty-third year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1564), Li, the magistrate of Yuezhou, rebuilt Yueyang Tower and wrote the Record of Rebuilding Yueyang Tower. In the first year of Ming Dynasty (1567), Li, the magistrate of Yuezhou, gradually repaired the city wall and rebuilt Yueyang Tower.
In September of the third year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty (1646), Yueyang Tower was destroyed by war. In the seventh year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty (1650), the magistrate Li Ruoxing rebuilt it. That year, it was destroyed by a fire. In the second year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1663), Yueyang Tower was rebuilt. In the spring of the 22nd year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1683), Li, the magistrate of Yuezhou, and Zhao, the magistrate of Baling, advocated donating money to rebuild Yueyang Tower. In the 27th year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1688), Yueyang Tower was destroyed by a fire in Yuezhou. In the fifth year of Qing Qianlong (1740), the first rudder of Governor Hu Guangban was used to repair the Yuezhou City Wall and Yueyang Tower. In winter, Xinggong rebuilt Yueyang Tower and the city wall. The rebuilt Yueyang Tower has three floors, and there is a hotel on the right side of the building. In the seventh year of Qing Qianlong (1742), Huangning Road, the magistrate of Yuezhou, repaired Yueyang Tower and donated the front hall of the hotel. The following year, Zhang and Fan Zhongyan, ministers of punishments, were invited to write The Story of Yueyang Tower. In the thirty-ninth year of Qing Qianlong (1774), Landixi, the magistrate of Yuezhou, and Xiong Mao, the magistrate of Baling County, requested the restoration of Fucheng. Liang Guozhi, the governor of Hunan Province, has successively repaired the city wall, Yueyang Tower and Wenxing Pavilion. In the 40th year of Qing Qianlong (1775), Xiong Mao of Baling County was awarded the prize to repair Yueyang Tower, build "Wang Xianting" on the right side of the building and rebuild "Xianmeiting" on the left side of the building.
