1959 ——1964 studied in the Oil Painting Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts.
1964- 1984 was appointed as an artist of the political department of jinan military area command and the political department of Shandong Military Region, and Art editor, a Shandong militia. Engaged in art creation and magazine editing, the oil painting "People's Warrior", the New Year picture "Consultation" and the oil painting "A Bag of Dry Food" were selected for the national art exhibition and the whole army art exhibition respectively.
1985, he served as librarian and associate professor of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, and vice president of China Academy of Fine Arts. The oil paintings "Morning Song" and "Washing Yarn for Preschool Education" here participated in the China Oil Painting Competition and the West Lake Art Festival, and their works were collected by the Japanese Chiyoda Club and the Hong Kong Oriental Art Foundation respectively.
In May, 199 1 visited China with the delegation of art education.
During 1992- 1996, his works were selected for the exhibition of China Academy of Fine Arts. International art exhibition.
1993 visited Russia and Indonesia successively.
1997 has been teaching in Adult Education Branch of China Academy of Fine Arts. He went deep into the frontier for many times to collect customs, and devoted himself to creating a number of oil paintings reflecting the customs of the western regions. His works include Smoke in the Canyon, Summer, Cloudy Sky and Muzengge Peak, the Father of Icebergs.
Former vice president of China Academy of Fine Arts, now professor of China Academy of Fine Arts, member of China Artists Association. The oil paintings "Roy" and "Ancient Town" were exhibited in Jakarta International Convention Center, Indonesia, and their works were collected by Indonesian monasteries. The oil paintings "One Sea Love" and "Four Great Kou" were selected for the "Works Exhibition of China Academy of Fine Arts" and the "Sun Yat-sen and Overseas Chinese" international art touring exhibition respectively.
