Since 1978, our society has successively published The Complete Works of Shakespeare (eleven volumes in paperback), which is well received by readers. This book won the first National Book Award in 1994. In the same year, our society published the six-volume Complete Works in paperback and hardcover.

At the request of readers, on the basis of the above edition, we published a new eight-volume hardcover edition of The Complete Works of Shakespeare. In the Complete Works, apart from the Shakespeare's Edward III and Two Noble Relatives translated by Mr. Lu Yuan, the original version translated by Mr. Zhu Shenghao was retained as much as possible, but the arrangement order was slightly adjusted.

In order to let readers know more about Shakespeare's creation, we specially invited famous poets and translators Mr. Tu An and Ms. zhangyan to preface this edition.
