After Yao ascended the throne, he unified the Central Plains, served the four barbarians, leveled the soil and water, and divided Kyushu, forming the earliest national system in China.
According to Yao Dian, "Emperor Yao sent Shi and He Shi to observe the astronomical phenomena, calculate the operating rules of the sun, moon and stars, make a calendar, and master the changes in spring, summer, autumn and winter. In this way, disorderly farming has been transformed into orderly production, which has effectively promoted the development of agriculture.
From Emperor Zhuangzi: Shun once asked Yao, "What do you want to be the emperor?" Yao said: "I don't despise stubborn people. I am willing to help the poor. I am kind to the dead. I am compassionate to children and women." This is my intention. " Shun said: "This is good, but it seems not great enough." Yao said, "So, what do you think?" Shun said: "Virtue should be in harmony with the sky, keep inner peace and let nature take its course, just like the sun and the moon shining and running at four o'clock, just like the alternation of day and night, just like clouds and rain." Yao said, "I'm really busy! You can be in harmony with the sky; And I can only get along with people. "
