Zhao Zhongyao missed the Nobel Prize and was jailed twice. Why didn't he forget his physics research before he died?
Although the status is low, I never forget to worry about national affairs, but if I want to realize the ideal of reunification, I can only make a final conclusion after death. Lu you

In the long history, there are many people with lofty ideals, taking the country's prosperity and national rejuvenation as their own responsibility. Zhuge Liang used "he died before he conquered, and from then on, the hero shed tears on his skirt"; Why should Dai Shulun be born in Yumenguan when he is willing to serve the country? And Wen Tianxiang, immortal since ancient times.

They love the lofty sentiments and aspirations of the motherland, and cross the historical time and space to directly hit people's hearts.

The first time I went abroad, I missed the Nobel Prize.

Zhao Zhongyao, male, 1902, from Zhuji, Zhejiang. He is smart, good at learning, and has studied hard since he was a child. 18 years old, successfully admitted to Nanjing Normal University with excellent results. 1 year later, the school was renamed as National Southeast University, and Zhao Zhongyao stayed as a teacher after graduation because of his outstanding achievements.

During his study and teaching in Southeast University, Zhao Zhongyao has been devoted to the study of physics. He has quick thinking and superior ability, and has his own unique thinking and opinions in the research field. He was often too busy studying to eat, and was praised by Ye, a master of physics.

With Ye's help, Zhao Zhongyao's physics research has become smoother and more open, but at the same time, he also found that there is still a big gap between China's physics research and European and American countries.

1925, invited by teacher Ye, he went to Tsinghua as a teaching assistant to get in touch with more advanced research equipment and literature. In that era when the national strength was weak, even Tsinghua University's physics research was struggling, so a group of people chose to study abroad with the government's support and return to China to serve the motherland in the future. Zhao Zhongyao is one of them.

From 65438 to 0927, Zhao Zhongyao embarked on the journey of studying in the United States with the dream of fighting for the motherland. He hopes to make greater contributions to the physical research of the motherland one day. Zhao Zhongyao studied at California Institute of Technology and studied under the Nobel Prize winner and famous physicist Dr. Millikan.

During her study in the United States, Zhao Zhongyao made rapid progress and made great achievements in the research field. Especially in the study of "positron and electron"? The phenomenon of "abnormal absorption" of rays is the first person to discover this phenomenon in this field.

At this time, his classmate Anderson went further on the basis of his research, first calculated the research trajectory of positively charged particles, and won the Nobel Prize with this research conclusion. However, Zhao Zhongyao missed the Nobel Prize that year. Although there is no Nobel Prize, Zhao Zhongyao is the uncrowned king in this field.

1932, Zhao Zhongyao returned to China and began to teach nuclear physics in the physics department of Tsinghua University. This course was the first in China, and Zhao Zhongyao became the first person in nuclear physics education in China. He established a nuclear physics laboratory, which greatly promoted the development of nuclear research in China.

The first time I went to prison, I didn't change my original intention and didn't forget my hometown.

After the outbreak of the All-round Anti-Japanese War, North China was no longer safe, Tsinghua and other famous universities were forced to move to the southwest, and Zhao Zhongyao was forced to leave Beiping and come to the National Southwest Associated University to teach again.

In the view of scholars like Zhao Zhongyao, the only thing they can do in wartime is to train a large number of scientists and build their own nuclear weapons, so as to deter the enemy and strengthen national defense.

Zhao Zhongyao has indeed trained a large number of physicists in The National SouthWest Associated University, including Qian Sanqiang, the founder of the second atomic bomb, Yang Zhenning and Li Zhengdao, the Nobel Prize winners in physics. Thanks to the unremitting efforts of these physicists, China has made great progress in national defense science and technology, laying a solid foundation for the development of the nuclear cause.

1946, Zhao Zhongyao was invited to visit the American atomic bomb experiment. So Zhao Zhongyao came to the United States again, collected materials and experience of studying his own atomic bomb for the motherland, and bought a batch of parts for making atomic bombs.

When he came to the United States this time, Zhao Zhongyao did not return to China immediately. Instead, he has been conducting nuclear research in the advanced laboratory of California Institute of Technology until the establishment of New China.

1949, when the new China was founded, a large number of scientists were urgently needed to undertake the mission of rejuvenating China in the new China, so the motherland sent an invitation to scientists studying abroad to jointly build a powerful new China. After hearing the news, Zhao Zhongyao immediately packed his bags and materials and prepared to set foot on his way home. However, in his special status at this time, it is not easy to return to China.

1950, Zhao Zhongyao and a group of scientists studying in the United States crossed the ocean to return to the motherland, but they were captured by Japanese spies of American intelligence agencies and held in a heavily guarded prison in Tokyo. Zhao Zhongyao didn't give in to the enemy, and he never forgot to serve the motherland.

Later, when the China administration got the news, it kept putting pressure on the United States. Under the condemnation of international public opinion, the United States had to release Zhao Zhongyao who had been detained for two months for no reason. After many twists and turns, Zhao Zhongyao returned to his long-lost motherland on June 28th.

If you go to prison again, you will never forget physics research until you die.

After returning to the motherland, Zhao Zhongyao immediately began to develop the atomic bomb. He remained anonymous for decades and made great contributions to the nuclear research of the motherland, leading a group of scientists to make outstanding achievements in the nuclear field.
