How to become a writer and embark on the road of literary creation?
[& lt; Writer's Road —— Talking about Literary Creation >: It's Xu You's oral report in Pingqiao Middle School, his alma mater]

Like everyone else, I am also a graduate of Pingqiao Middle School. I am very happy to sit and communicate with you. I used to be a teacher and taught at Tiantai Middle School for twelve years. Later, I switched to administrative work. First, I spent six or seven years in Tiantai Radio and Television Bureau (Tiantai TV Station) and returned to education in 2003. In retrospect, these experiences seem like a lifetime ago, worrying about their limited level and wasting everyone's time. Now everyone is very nervous about studying, and time and energy are precious, so I will try my best to teach the class well. Please criticize the inadequacies.

Today's topic is the road of writers, and by the way, I will talk about some creative things. The writer's road is a big topic. There are many writers all over the country. For example, there are more than 8,000 writers and members of the Chinese Writers Association (an average of more than 200 in each province, mainly concentrated in the provincial capital cities, Taizhou has10; Our rooftop is relatively poor. There are only four provincial writers' associations in the county. The Chinese Writers Association has been blank since liberation. I am also the first member of the Chinese Writers Association in Tiantai since the founding of the People's Republic of China, which is a blank in Tiantai. I am only one of the more than 8,000 members of the Chinese Writers Association, which is usually called a writer. And everyone takes a different path, so it's hard to generalize. So I can only talk about some experiences in combination with my own study and several novels. Therefore, it is more appropriate to say "my creative path" than "writer's path".

Generally speaking, I don't think it's easy to really become a writer. Generally speaking, you have to go through a bumpy journey and even fall a few times. Subjectively, I want to work hard. As the saying goes, "Without some cold, there would be no fragrant wintersweet." Mencius' saying that "Heaven is the great responsibility of the people of Sri Lanka, we must first suffer from their minds, work hard on their bones and muscles, starve their bodies, and empty their bodies" is the truth. Of course, what I am talking about here is a real writer, not a self-styled so-called writer, that is, a general "writer."

Below, I will talk about some of my own superficial experiences.

First of all, we should cultivate interest from an early age or in our usual study and life (or yearn for it from an early age)

Speaking of my dream of being a writer, I started in the third and fourth grades of primary school, and I still remember it vividly. One morning in late spring and early summer that year, the sun had just risen from the top of Dongshan Mountain, and the soft sunshine shone obliquely. After breakfast, I took a small bench outside the house and sat at the foot of my own fence with a big novel on my knee. I remember clearly that the book is Struggle in the trilogy of "Romantic Generation", and it is the work of Ouyang Shan. Among the romantic trilogy of the first generation, Three Fragrances and Hard Struggle were the best, which had great influence in the whole country at that time. I watched Struggle. At this time, a neighbor passed by, greatly surprised, and said, You are so small, reading such a big book.

She didn't mean to say that, but it had a great influence on me, and I was a little unconvinced. What's wrong with being small? I couldn't read big books when I was young. Later, I found that the story of Zhou Bing and Qu Tao in the book was very good, so I had the idea of writing novels when I grew up. This idea was really formed at this time, and it has been lingering in my mind, from junior high school to high school, from high school to rural areas, to college, until I officially joined the work, without interruption for a moment. Perhaps it is this idea that supports me, inspires me and keeps me going until now.

Among them, there is a more distinct point of view to support me: I hope everyone knows that I have been to this world and I once existed in this world. Locke, a British philosopher, has a theory of pewter, which means that people's thinking is like carving a trace on a smooth pewter. The bigger and deeper the thought, the longer and deeper the trace left on the ash (Locke meant to describe the form and process of human thinking, and I hereby extend his words to my use, whether it is Hu Shi's pragmatism or Lu Xun's utilitarianism). By grey theory, I mean that smooth grey is like history, and anyone who has the ability can carve traces on it, which is similar to the so-called "geese leave their voices and people leave their names", which is advocated by China tradition.

The so-called fame and fortune, fame and fortune. It's not a bad thing to want to be famous and have a family. If the whole country had become famous and married, I'm afraid China would have been different. There is a simple reason. No matter who wants to become famous and have a family, they have to work hard, and struggle will often contribute to society. Society develops through the continuous struggle and contribution of everyone (this is a subjective criticism in the past, and it is objectively aimed at others; Hegel also said that what is realistic is reasonable, and what is reasonable is realistic. Although it is not comprehensive, it is also reasonable, at least it can't be completely denied as before. So my point is, not only do we not object to famous marriages, but we should support, encourage and support them. This is responsible to the country, to the nation, to future generations and to each of us.

I am thinking that in the future, our classmates here will be famous and married, then our Pingqiao Middle School will be more prosperous; Why is Shangyu chunhui middle school famous? Because of the great director Xie Jin, there is also a small private school, which is still in our minds. Because Lu Xun is studying there, the signboard is very hard. In short, the reason or foundation for a school to be truly famous is largely because a large number of students have become famous and married.

I just said some digressions, but this is my expectation and wish for the students present. I just hope that all the students here can become talents. But if you want to be a talent, especially a great talent, then you should make up your mind and lay a good foundation now, which goes back to the subtitle I talked about: the problem of cultivating interest from an early age, or the problem of being determined from an early age.

The second question I want to talk about is:

Second, a writer must be a learned man and a saint. He must know as much as possible and master at least a few subjects.

Indeed, a writer must be both a learned man and a sage. He must know as much as possible and master at least a few subjects. When you are engaged in creative activities, you will deeply realize that the more knowledge, the more helpful it is to your creation and the more handy it is to write.

This has a problem of seizing the time to lay a good foundation. I also have my own experience in this respect.

As mentioned earlier, I had the idea of being a writer when I was in primary school, but at that time I just stayed in the idea and couldn't put it into practice; Elementary school, even don't know a few words, what can be a writer? In addition, at that time, during the Cultural Revolution, schools were open to the outside world, and they studied the military, industry and agriculture. They were engaged in these things all day, and they didn't study if they wanted to.

Nevertheless, I have always wanted to be a writer.

When I was in junior high school, I liked writing because I had this idea in my mind. But because of the limited foundation, I can only do it a few times, which is nothing at all. What really has a vital role and influence on me is high school, which is here-Zhong Ping. During my stay in Zhong Ping, I really put a lot of effort into it. So I always say: Zhong Ping has a great influence on me, and I have read many books here. This is from the bottom of my heart. At that time, Zhong Ping was particularly fierce. County leaders of Chinese, mathematics, physics, chemistry, English and other disciplines are all here. The elites of county education are all here, including Huang in Chinese, Huang in English and Huang in chemistry, all of whom are university professors (Huang, a member of Chinese Writers Association and a professor of Zhejiang Normal University, is a leading figure in children's literature in China, and my literary creation was originally learned from him. Liu Xinmin-Professor of Zhejiang Gongshang University; Zhu Wenbin, the first batch of special-grade teachers in the province, heard that Hangzhou University hired him as a professor, but he declined because of his age. Wang Yuezhi of the Department of Mathematics participated in the compilation of mathematics textbooks for middle schools in Zhejiang Province at that time. There are also Chen in physics. They are all very influential people. Our classmates secretly call them "General Five Tigers".

Back to my own topic. To sum up, from Zhong Ping's high school days to the early days of work, I feel that there are several obvious stages or processes of development and improvement:

1, read a few books intensively

It is intensive reading, not ordinary browsing or reading. Read and understand as much as possible. This is easier said than done. First of all, it takes a lot of time and energy, and requires considerable perseverance and perseverance. I remember when I was in high school, the works that had the greatest influence on me were Sanyan Erpai (at that time, I read few books and almost no novels)-this is Xing Yan, Yan Ming and Tong Yan, who were amazing at the first moment and amazing at the second moment. In contrast, Ling Mengchu's second beat is inferior in quality. Those three words are the works of Feng Menglong, a great writer in Ming Dynasty. They are masterpieces of ancient short vernacular novels, and they can also be said to be representative works and models. Its content involves all fields of social life. It can be said that these three words are not only literary masterpieces, but also an unprecedented literary dictionary, a treasure house of history, politics, economy, culture, religion and social life, and there are countless beneficial nutrients to learn. Reading three words carefully can greatly improve your knowledge grade in all aspects and make your knowledge and insight reach an unprecedented new realm.

When I read Sanyan, I didn't just appreciate the story. The story in Sanyan is wonderful and beautiful, which often makes people forget to eat and sleep. But when I read it, I pay special attention to the notes at the back of each novel and try to memorize the notes, especially the allusions. There are many allusions in these three words, which are of great help to my future literary creation and ancient book reading.

At that time, after reading and reciting these books intensively, I also extracted many allusions, and my feelings were obvious. I feel that I have made a great leap in literature, history and classicism. Although it is a novel, through careful reading, you will have a concrete image of the social and historical life of that period, feel close to the ancients, and sometimes even feel a dialogue with the ancients.

2. Try to improve your literacy.

Later, after graduating from high school, I went to the countryside to jump the queue to farm. However, my luck is not very bad. The production team took good care of me. I remember that I participated in the construction of the north main canal of Lishimen Reservoir. The team arranged for me to weigh the rocks. I am not busy or hard, sometimes I feel a little idle. So I used the gap to recite Xinhua Dictionary. Anyway, there were few books at that time, and I couldn't find a novel to read for ten days and a half. Idle is idle. Every time I copy the content of an initial from the dictionary, sometimes one page, sometimes three pages, five pages or even more than a dozen pages, no matter how many, I stipulate that I must recite it. It took about two or three months before and after this, and the Xinhua dictionary was basically memorized.

This seemingly silly dictionary memorization method unexpectedly gave me a great benefit: I found that after reading all kinds of books, there were fewer new words, and many meanings of a word were generally understood, especially reading ancient Chinese, which saved me a lot of effort, and those words that were easy to misread and misunderstand were now basically treated correctly. At this time, I deeply felt that I had made another great leap in knowledge, which was the second leap I obviously felt.

To be a writer in China, you should study ancient Chinese hard.

If you want to create literature and become a writer in China, you must work hard on ancient Chinese. Personally, I think this is an indispensable link and the only way to become a writer rather than a writer. What kind of writer is he who doesn't know ancient Chinese and classical literature? This is the basic knowledge that every China writer should possess.

In the college entrance examination, I was lucky enough to get the first place in the county's liberal arts (I remember that Zhong Ping was really brilliant at that time, more than 800 people in the county's liberal arts participated in the college entrance examination, and only 8 people went online in the first batch, while 5 people graduated from Zhong Ping, and the top four were Zhong Ping graduates); However, when I was admitted, I was unlucky. Because of the mistakes made by comrades in the Provincial Admissions Office (it was manual operation at that time, which was easy to make mistakes), I should have been admitted to Fudan, but I was admitted to an ordinary normal college in the province, which also belonged to the enrollment expansion of high-scoring candidates. My major is not Chinese, but politics. At that time, it was different from now, paying attention to obeying state distribution, unconditional obedience, and having no personality at all. In this way, the literature I once indulged in became a hobby.

But now it seems that studying politics, philosophy, economics and so on. Is not necessarily a bad thing. Even I have the feeling that it is better than simply learning Chinese. Basically, people who study philosophy and economics generally understand things faster and deeper than those who study Chinese purely, and may judge various values more accurately than those who study Chinese purely. In my later literary creation, I deeply realized this.

Although the literary activities that were originally devoted to all efforts have now become amateurs, since you are interested, you must do well and strive for achievements. As I said before, Locke's grey theory and China's flying geese left their voices, leaving their names. If this hobby is your strong point, it will be enough for you to make a name in history in the future. Why not let it play its best role? Why not leave a mark in history? If you want to leave a page and a half, or even a line in history, you have to pay a hundred times of efforts and painstaking efforts, subjectively for yourself, but objectively beneficial to society. It is almost impossible to be completely self-interested and dedicated to others. From the perspective of anthropology and social psychology, this is anti-human. Some people even say that social development and human progress have a certain relationship with everyone's selfishness. This cannot be said to be all right, but it is not necessarily all wrong. Under certain conditions, this makes sense.

Okay, that's beside the point. Let's go back to our previous question. If you want to be a writer in China, you must study ancient Chinese hard. When I was in college, I entered the wrong room because of historical mistakes and became a student of the political department. My literary creation has changed from initial concentration to hobby. But I think since I have a hobby, I should love it well and make myself famous, so that I won't be sorry for myself. After graduating from college, I went to Tianzhong to teach politics. I can still engage in my hobby-literary creation in my spare time and evening. On the premise of doing my job well, I often write some short stories, including novels, essays, poems and essays. And teaching papers, published in various newspapers and periodicals all over the country (at that time, I was the only one who published seven teaching papers in a row in national newspapers and periodicals).

That summer vacation, my first summer vacation after working, lasted more than 50 days. I did another thing that has an important influence on my future: I stayed at home almost all summer and stayed at home every day. What should I do? Read a book. The Book of Songs is a version annotated by Professor Gao Feng of Shandong University. When reading The Book of Songs, my desk was full of dictionaries: Ci Hai, Ci Yuan, Kangxi Dictionary, Xu Shen's Shuo Wen Jie Zi and so on. I read the Book of Songs from beginning to end, almost word for word. A summer vacation passed and the Book of Songs was finished. This book is full of notes. At this time, I feel that I have made another obvious leap in my study: reading ancient books is basically not difficult.

Before and after this, I also read The View of Ancient Chinese Literature, Selected Literary Theories of Guo Shaoyu in Past Dynasties, Liu Xie's Wen Xin Diao Long, and Wang Li's Ancient Chinese Literature of Peking University. , including the Tang poetry and Song poetry Yuan Qu that I read in junior and senior high schools. It can be said that I am not the original me at this time.

In short, from Sanyan to Xinhua Dictionary to the Book of Songs, these are my three major steps, one step at a time, a total of three steps, which have a very obvious impact on my future study.

Having said that, I'd like to make a special statement: I don't approve of the students here taking my stupid approach. Now it is different from then, and everyone is under the pressure of the college entrance examination. According to your teacher's arrangement, we should work hard to complete the required studies and strive for good results in the college entrance examination. If you can get into a good university, you will not be afraid of becoming a talent in the future. If you can get a little inspiration from my past efforts and apply them to your present study, that will be enough.

4. The writer should master the knowledge of other subjects as much as possible. They can't all be proficient, but at least they should be.

If you want to be a writer worthy of the name, instead of a writer who hangs a writer's signboard and actually writes letters to others with street stalls, then you should study hard, constantly absorb knowledge and master everything you can. Be familiar with other subjects as much as possible. People's energy is a constant. We can't master everything, but you should try to master other subjects, such as politics, economy, law, culture, sports, medicine, architecture, market, religion, history, design, physics, chemistry, biology, information, classicism, modernity, China, foreign countries, philosophy, aesthetics, logic and various psychology. In short, you should try your best to understand everything in ordinary people's lives, dare not say that you are proficient, at least you should be proficient. A writer is also a learned man and a saint.

In the process of learning, in addition to their own professional expertise, but also strive to achieve a balanced development of related disciplines, as far as possible not to appear negligence. There is no useless knowledge for a writer. Although some knowledge won't be used by you right now, you can't be sure that it won't be used in the future. The reason is very simple, because this knowledge may not be useful to you now, but in the future, the characters you write may only have mastered what you think is useless now, so you must understand these useless and useful knowledge.

In retrospect, shortly after the end of the Cultural Revolution, the Fourth National Literary Congress was held, and Zhou Yang, chairman of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, proposed at the meeting that writers should be scholars. Although this is very demanding, I still think it is reasonable. Look at those masters, such as Qian Zhongshu, Shen Congwen and Guo Moruo, who are not writers but also professors and scholars. Looking closely at many of our so-called writers, who sit in their rooms all day, can only write those irrelevant words, and most of them are artificial and disgusting. What kind of writer is this? Look at Cao Xueqin again. How much knowledge does A Dream of Red Mansions involve? There are psychology, Buddhism and Taoism, Chinese medicine, landscape architecture design, decoration, politics, economy, makeup, fashion design, technology and so on. I think it's no exaggeration to call A Dream of Red Mansions an encyclopedia, but like Cao Xueqin, it is a great writer in the true sense.

I've been trying.

After my first novel "Dream of Taoyuan" (nearly 400,000 words) was published, because it involved a lot of knowledge of Chinese medicine, the TV host at that time was very surprised: how did this director Xu know Chinese medicine? Later, a department director who graduated from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine joked that he was looking for a loophole in my book, but he couldn't find it, because I knew a little about the four diagnosis and eight cardinal principles (seeing, listening, asking, yin and yang cold and heat, exterior and interior deficiency) and the prescription for hiding images (prescription for monarch, minister, assistant minister and soup head), and some even remembered it better than him, because after all, he hadn't practiced medicine for many years, and many things had long been forgotten; Later, he wanted to compare his pulse with mine. When put into practice, I'm sure I can't, so I have to hang up the war-free card quickly. Hey hey, I see the importance of picking up the tail.

The novel Tiger General Daming is divided into two parts, 9 1000 words in total. It tells the story of a generation of national hero Qi Jiguang's anti-Japanese war. It is a panoramic work of ancient military themes, involving not only ancient military knowledge (such as marching and camping, formation, weapons, etc.). ), as well as the social life, customs, costumes, bureaucracy and Japanese habits at that time. It takes a lot of time to learn, try to understand and write, so as not to make a fool of yourself. To this end, I specially consulted 6 million words of information and went to the scene of related stories for on-the-spot investigation.

Daming Tiger was once reported by Taizhou TV and other media as shocking the Zhejiang literary world. These books have been collected by many units, such as Tao Zhu Anti-Japanese Memorial Hall, Penglai, the hometown of Qi Jiguang, the database of the Provincial Writers Association, and many libraries and museums, and they have also traveled across the ocean to South Korea. Zhejiang Writers Association specially held a seminar on "Daming Tiger". Huang Yazhou, Chairman of the Provincial Writers Association, Ye Wenling, Honorary Chairman, Wang Zhecheng, Vice Chairman, Zheng Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary General, Jin Xuezhong and more than 20 leading figures from all walks of life in Zhejiang literature attended the seminar. Sheng Zichao, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, publicly announced that Daming Tiger is one of the two models for Zhejiang College of Liberal Arts to study new literary genres. The other is Sunrise in the East by Huang Yazhou.

Farewell to Town is a novel with a modern theme, with 470,000 words, which is regarded as a fine realistic project in Zhejiang Province. The protagonist is a lawyer, and many of them involve laws, land use policies and urban construction, such as urban planning, architectural design and catering services. Needless to say, I have to master these related knowledge myself.

The Sage of the Military Strategist is divided into two parts, with 600,000 words, describing the story of Wuqi during the Warring States Period. It involves the appellation, daily necessities, position (such as incense list), diet, etc. at that time, which is very complicated. It also involves whether there were many things at that time, such as buildings, locks, scales, coins and so on. And whether there were some idioms at that time, otherwise people in the Warring States would make jokes if they said something about the Tang Dynasty.

In short, for a writer, the more knowledge, the better, and writing will be handy.

Someone once asked me what I think of Han Han, and my evaluation is hard to say. For this kind of person, tell the truth.

I don't like it. I only

It is too long. I'll give you the link
