Content introduction:
Ma Bole is the last novel of Xiao Hong, who is regarded as one of the "four talented women in the Republic of China". Because Xiao Hong died early, her work was not finished. In Xiao Hong's first and second films, the first one describes the life of Ma Bole, a "cultural wanderer" who fled from Qingdao to Shanghai when War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression was about to break out. The second part describes how Mrs. Ma Bole and her three children fled from Shanghai to Hankou awkwardly after the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, and Ma Bole's love and lovelorn in Hankou. Xiao Hong intends to write in the third part that the Ma Bole family once again fled from Hankou to Chongqing, but it has not been completed.
This "Ma Bole" is contrary to the style of Xiao Hong's previous works, while Ma Bole's brushwork is humorous, ironic and spicy, which vividly depicts the master Ma Bole. Ma Bole's despicable personality, such as selfishness, laziness, greed, bullying and fear of hard work, is not a case. Even after more than half a century, seeing Ma Bole still makes people feel that he is around, even that he is himself.
