Famous Confucian scholars such as Yang, Peng Xingzhi, Huang Yan, Fang Jingtang, Liu Peiying and Hang Xiling, famous scholars such as Gao Chongli, Li Yingbang and Li Ruyuan, famous officials such as Pei Yicheng, Li Fuchu and Gao Zizun, famous calligraphers such as Wang Xing, Li Xiu and Hang Xiling, and border businessmen such as Han Shigong and Kou were all celebrities at that time. In the thirty-second year of Guangxu (1906), a higher primary school was founded.
