History of Jixi Mining Bureau
Jixi mining area has a mining history of more than one hundred years. 1906 Coal was discovered in Yulianggou, north bank of Muling River in Jiuqu Ileum, and was immediately put into mining. In the following decades, Russian businessmen, British businessmen and overseas Chinese from Nanyang came here to explore and exploit. After the Japanese invaders entered the northeast, they plundered and the resources were seriously damaged.

From 65438 to 0945, with the liberation of Northeast China, Jixi mining area returned to the hands of the people and began to glow with vitality. 1948 July 15 Jixi Mining Bureau was established. During the period from 1949 to 1952, the annual output has reached 2.5 million tons. During the first five-year plan period from 1953 to 1957, a total of 21700,000 tons of raw coal was produced. During the 20 years from 1958 to 1978, the construction of the mining area was accelerated. On the basis of the original five old mines, such as Hengshan, Didao, Mashan, Chengzihe and Muling, six mines, such as Xiaohengshan, Erdaohezi, Zhengyang, Datong Gou, Zhang Xin and Pinggang, have been completed and put into operation one after another. At the same time, Donghai Mine, which was built by demobilized officers and soldiers in Beidahuang, was handed over to Jixi Mining Bureau. At this point, the mine layout of 12 mine has been formed. After 1986, the newly-built Xinghua Mine replaced the exhausted Mashan Mine, and successively built Xinfa Mine and Ronghua Mine. At the end of the 20th century, due to the shrinking resources, some mines closed down and went bankrupt. Hengshan mine, Muling mine, Xiaohengshan mine, Datong ditch mine and Didao mine were successively replaced by the reorganized Lishu mine, Dongshan mine, Didao mine and Shengsheng mine, and still maintain the 12 mine pattern.
