1927, puyi sugar factory was forced to shut down due to the warlord melee and lack of raw materials. Since then, Chen Yaosheng has transferred to the university to teach, because he has rich practical experience and is very popular with students. 1930 served as the director of the brewing research office of the central industrial laboratory of the Ministry of Industry, and made contributions to the improvement of traditional brewing. 1932, went to study in the United States at public expense and obtained a master's degree in science. After studying fermentation chemistry at the University of Wisconsin, he went to European countries to inspect the microbial industry and gained a lot of experience. After returning home, he still went back to work, and soon became the chief chemist of China Alcohol Factory, technically surpassing the British experts hired at that time, which made him famous. The factory was bombed by the Japanese invaders on August 13th. Under the rumble of guns, Chen Yaosheng also engaged in writing and teaching in various universities. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), entrusted by the Ministry of Light Industry, he went to the northeast to help sugar factories and alcohol factories resume work, and went to the northwest to investigate the address of sugar beet sugar factories. Today, Baotou Sugar Factory stands tall on the bank of the Yellow River, and Chen Yaosheng has a credit for it.
1950 Chen Yaosheng is a professor in the Department of Food Industry of Jiangnan University. 1953 became a laboratory consultant of Shanghai No.1 Local Industry Bureau. Due to the successful research of liquid koji, the fermentation laboratory of Shanghai Institute of Light Industry was established. Later, the research on glutamic acid fermentation was successful, and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission attached great importance to it. It thought that industrial microbiology was a promising subject, so it separated the fermentation room from the Institute of Light Industry and established the Shanghai Institute of Industrial Microbiology. Shortly after the Cultural Revolution began, Chen Yaosheng was persecuted and resumed his work on 1969.
1982, Chen Yaoyin went to Shanghai University of Science and Technology, founded the Department of Bioengineering, and served as the head of the department. 1985, honorary dean and professor.
Chen Yaosheng has successively served as director of China Chemical Industry Society, director and chairman of Shanghai Chemical Society, vice-chairman and consultant of Shanghai Chemical and Chemical Society, director of Chinese Chemical Society, director of Shanghai Microbiology Society, director of chinese society for microbiology, honorary chairman of China Microbiology Brewing Society, director of China Food Association, director of Shanghai Food Association, member of the 6th Shanghai CPPCC and representative of the 7th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress. 1956 Join the Jiu San Society. 1978 was rated as an advanced worker in Shanghai. In the same year, he also won the single prize of major scientific and technological achievements award of the National Science Conference. His monograph "History of Microbial Industry in China" won the National Excellent Science and Technology Book Award1977-1981. 1990 won the honorary certificate of the State Education Commission.
