Formation process

The 82nd Army of the People's Liberation Army of China was established in April 20 17, and it belongs to the Army of the Central Theater of the People's Liberation Army.

On April 27th, 20 17, Yang Yujun, director of the Information Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense of China and spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, disclosed the decision of the Central Military Commission at the regular press conference of the Ministry of National Defense: based on the original 18 Army, the 13 Army was reorganized and formed, with the numbers of PLA Army No.71,72, 73 and 74 respectively.

A certain unit of the 82nd Army of China People's Liberation Army (formerly the main division of the 38th Army) was formerly known as the Red Fifth Army, which was founded after the Pingjiang Uprising was launched by the 5th Division 1 regiment of Xiang Army led by Peng on 1928.

From 1928' s "The First Regiment of Pingjiang Uprising" to 1950' s "Long Live the Army" and then to the 82nd Army formed by deepening the reform and adjustment of national defense and the army in the new period, what has changed is the name and function of the army, but what remains unchanged is the red gene that is continuously passed down in the blood of this British model army.
