How to evaluate musician Lin Hai?
As a fan of Lin Hai for many years, tell me my impression of him. Musical talent is extremely high: musical hearing is good: when I was a child, my father (also a composer) found that I had the ability to distinguish absolute pitch (once Xiao Linhai and his father went to buy watermelons, saying that the ripe watermelons were in a certain key and the raw watermelons were in a certain key). And even those who study music, few people have "absolute pitch" ears. In addition, according to himself, he studied jazz in middle school, and the rhythm, tonality and harmony of jazz often change with the complexity, which shows that his listening is really good. Piano playing talent: when I was studying in the Central Conservatory of Music (I don't know if it was like this in the middle school attached to it), I was notoriously lazy and didn't practice the piano. The teacher said that he was "the most talented, but the least diligent". However, in order to participate in the Van Clenburne Piano Competition in college, he only practiced piano for a month and was shortlisted for the semi-finals. Of course, it can also be said that this is because he is a good boy, but isn't there an old saying that "if you don't practice your hands and feet for one day, you will lose half if you don't practice for two days, and if you don't practice for three days, you won't stare for four days"? Besides, the skills required for participating in the competition are extremely high and difficult, and it's not entirely the boys' ability to be lazy at the last minute to sharpen your guns and enter the semi-finals of the international piano competition. Improvisation talent: Lin Hai tried to compose music at the age of six (written on his resume). When I was twelve years old, I began to get in touch with jazz. I taught myself jazz when I was in the middle school attached to music. At the same time, I also made some creations, which often "attracted a burst of admiration from the students around me". When I was in college, I joined a band, worked as a keyboard player, and ran around improvising or accompanying. He majored in piano, improvisation is not the main course, which is not difficult for ordinary piano majors. He can practice to the point where he can make money by improvising with his own understanding of jazz, which can only be said to be more due to talent. Only by talent and college background, Lin Hai is afraid to be buried. It is his cleverness and alertness that helps him to display his talents while ensuring his survival. Before graduating from college, he always took a purely academic route (from the primary school attached to the Central Conservatory of Music to the Central Conservatory of Music), but his musical talent was basically devoted to his personal interests [jazz/(improvisation) creation and performance], and he did not forget to make a living by playing tickets-middle school began to make money, and he was rich enough to pay for round-trip air tickets for holidays (it was the 1980s, which should be very profitable for a teenager). When he was in college, Li Guyi took a fancy to him. After graduating from college, he was assigned to China Light Music Troupe. But he immediately found that all institutions pay attention to seniority, even if he has a good university background, there is no place to display his talents, so he resigned and went to sea immediately after working for one year. It was about 93 years ago, and he was willing to give up such an enviable iron rice bowl, which shows that he is very assertive and courageous, and he is also very sure of his professional ability and music market. After going to sea, Lin Hai was unknown for more than ten years, but she also made many wise choices: to maintain her reputation and peer relationship in the mainland music circle. Since the early 1990s, I have been working with mainland musicians to arrange and compose music. Until the end of 1990s, Lin Hai made music for Da Gong Ming Ci, which was regarded as his own film and television music career. Since then, it has been out of control. Lin Hai is very popular in the mainland music circle. She is proficient in composing, composing, recording, mixing and keyboard, so she always has good opportunities. The mainland music circle is equivalent to the fundamental guarantee for his survival. Many fans know Lin Hai from his movie soundtrack. Cooperate with Taiwan Province record companies (BMG, HIVE BOX) to transform New Age, which gained a certain popularity and praise in the Taiwanese music market at the beginning of its debut. We now see that the description of Lin Hai's style and temperament was written by BMG music critics and Fengchao Records. The positioning of these two companies has more or less affected Lin Hai's later creative style and fans' impressions. The recording industry in Taiwan Province Province is more prosperous than that in mainland China, and it is excellent in planning, production and publicity, even though it has a commercial flavor. Lin Hai's current solo albums are all released by Taiwan Province Record Company except the soundtrack of movies and TV in recent years. With the cooperation of Taiwan Province record company, Lin Hai has greater freedom to exert his talents and creativity; It is bold to assume that without the positioning packaging of these two companies, his music image would not be so complete and deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Not professional, just talk about my feelings about Lin Hai's works. Personal albums: Old Events in the South of the City, Sun, Moon, Things, and Cats are Lin Hai's early works, all of which have strong academic color, clear organization and ups and downs of motivation, but the arrangement does not lose the agility and classical elegance of jazz, making people feel like professional students are handing in their homework. In particular, "Sun, Moon, West and East" is really worthy of being a music critic's "left hand west, right hand east". A piece of music can transition from folk minor to the familiar classical polyphony, which shows that his understanding and playing with music are really good. But these three albums are the three albums with the lowest ratings among fans. I think it is probably because many fans feel that they are not rich enough, not "foreign" enough and not lyrical enough. But these three albums are my favorites. I think these three albums contain Lin Hai's simplest musical inspiration and emotion. Although they are all objects (the album "Cat" mostly describes Mimi's situation), the sense of picture and the vividness of narrative, as well as the feelings naturally expressed in music, are natural. In the albums published after 2000, Lin Hai's production and arrangement skills became more and more mature. I like flowing cities and love. The Flowing City is the pinnacle of Lin Hai's description of scenery with pure piano, with colorful colors and excellent picture sense. Compared with the first three albums, the arrangement is more comfortable, and every phrase is unambiguous and steady. Love is a lyric poem and a memory. Personally, I think it is the pinnacle of Lin Hai's arrangement, and the strings and piano are just right. Other evaluations are basically the same as "Flowing City". Butterfly Dance is also my favorite album. Beautiful and unique composition, exquisite arrangement. Lin Hai has improved the timbre of the dulcimer, which is also worth tasting. In Moonlight Boundary and Silence in the Distance, Lin Hai calls himself a business style. The artistic conception is very good, and some songs are very chic and casual. My feeling is that these two albums are more like essays, and Lin Hai has not devoted himself wholeheartedly to the creation of these two albums, whether by heart or skill. Film and television soundtrack: "Da Gong Ming Ci" is Lin Hai's soundtrack and the best. Lin Hai's arrangement can be brought into full play here. Actually, the soundtrack has only a few melodies. The same melody can transform various pictures and even opposing emotions in his hands, from sadness to joy, from silence to heroism. I also pay attention to the soundtrack of Linhai film and television after Da Gong Ming Ci. There are not many surprises, but it is always coastal, and some dexterity emerges from the calm melody. What disappoints me most is "Who's in charge of my youth", which almost completely follows the melody of "Silence in the Distance", and the arrangement is even more lacking. Song arrangement and composition: I haven't heard much, but I have heard almost surprises. I have always felt that Lin Hai's arrangement ability is definitely his capital for eating. He himself said that the composition of the song was very simple. He can write more than a dozen songs a day, but the arrangement is the key to the success or failure of a song, and the arrangement must have professional skills. Lin Hai's song arrangement is exquisite and skillful, not simple chord repetition. If you listen carefully, some phrases can be written almost independently of the singer's singing. The beauty is that Lin Hai's arranger does not pretend to be the host, but knows how to extend the meaning of the song cooperatively to make up for the lack of composition. Even if it is a minor score, he is unambiguous, the strings have a good sense of hierarchy, and the piano is also very classical or jazz. I like Ding Wei's blossoming flowers, Inadvertently, New Year, Little Happiness and, of course, the famous Dragon with His Ex-wife Wang Lan. Up to now, Lin Hai has not released a solo album for nearly eight years, but the film soundtrack is in full swing and is planned to be published. The recently produced soundtrack clips he uploaded hardly surprised me again. I'm a little worried that he has run out of inspiration, leaving only the arrangement technique. As an old music fan, disappointment is inevitable. Of course, his son is going to school soon, and it is very important to make a living. The record industry in the Mainland has been sluggish. Even if there are many fans, it is difficult to guarantee that everyone will buy his album. At the beginning of the year, Lin Hai revealed through Weibo that the female voice and sound of the pipa were Gong Linna, so that Weibo was forwarded thousands of times, attracting far more attention than his other Weibo. Many fans were surprised. They said that they didn't expect such a maverick Gong Linna to intersect with their favorite pipa! I had to smile bitterly. This surprise just reflects that many fans of Lin Hai have never bought his CD, and this information is clearly written in the CD copy. I think Bella will be popular in the future. Will Lin Hai send another Weibo one day, saying, Do you know who the female harmony of love is? The answer is revealed, it's Bella! No, no, you are our piano genius Lin Hai, and you don't need them to help you improve your popularity. I feel sad, too. If I hadn't done film and television music, I'm afraid Lin Hai's talent would never be known. His self-introduction of Weibo also emphasized his musical works, which made him famous. He has suffered from the decline of the record industry and music piracy, and film and television music is the cause that gives him the most real hope.
