1967 graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy. 1970- 1984 acted as the design director of Shanghai Children's Art Theatre in China Welfare Institute.

1984- 1985 teaches in the Oil Painting Department of Shanghai University Academy of Fine Arts.

1985- 1988 was a visiting scholar at the art school of the university of Minnesota.

1988- 1989 was a visiting professor at the School of Art, University of Winnipeg, Canada.

Now he is a professional painter, a visiting professor at Shanghai Theatre Academy and a tutor for master students.
