The National University of Defense Technology generally refers to the National University of Defense Technology of the People's Liberation Army, located in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a comprehensive military university and has always been a key institution for national and military construction. It is one of the key construction projects in the First Five-Year Plan 156 and one of the 20 key universities in China identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China 1959.
It is the first batch of institutions in the State Council that have the right to award master's and doctor's degrees, the first batch of pilot graduate schools in China, the first batch of institutions that have entered the national "2 1 1 Project" construction plan, the only institution in the whole army that has entered the ranks of the national "985 Project" construction, and the institutions that are supported by the national "double-class" construction.
The University of National Defense Technology, formerly known as the Military Engineering College of China People's Liberation Army, was founded in Harbin, 1953.
1970 the main body of the college moved south to Changsha and was renamed Changsha Institute of Technology. 20 17 School was rebuilt on the basis of National University of Defense Technology, School of International Relations, School of National Defense Information, Xi 'an Communication College, School of Electronic Engineering and School of Meteorology and Oceanography of Polytechnic University. Its headquarters is located in Changsha, and its internal colleges are located in Changsha, Nanjing, Wuhan, Hefei and other places.
