Selected Biographical Materials of Yuan Dynasty, edited by Su Yuan Tianjue, with a volume of 15. The original title was "A Brief Introduction to Famous Officials in Past Dynasties in China". There is a two-year calendar in front of the book (1329), so the book should be written no later than this time. The book contains biographies of 47 founding heroes, civil servants, military commanders and scholars of the Yuan Dynasty. The first four volumes include Mongolian and Semu people 12, and the last eleven volumes include 35 Han people. This book imitates Du Daxuan's Collection of Celebrities' Monuments in the Southern Song Dynasty, and directly uses original materials such as biographies of monuments collected by various writers, but it is different from Du Shu's full-text records. Instead, it selects and compiles poems, inscriptions, epitaphs, family biographies and other records of relevant figures year by year, indicates the source in sections, takes its details, eliminates its simplification, abandons its repetition and nonsense words, and makes the text finish. Before each biography, there is a summary, which outlines the clan, nationality, history, resume, age and so on. Those who have passed on the outstanding achievements of their ancestors are marked in small print in the text. The events and people involved in the article will be noted in fine print if they are supplemented by other books. This is an innovative genre of China's biographical history books. There are more than 30 quotations 10 in the book, among which the works of more than half of the famous literati in the early Yuan Dynasty, such as Wang E, Wang Pan, Xu Shilong, Li Xi, Yan Fu and Yuan Mingshan, etc. Their collected works no longer exist today, and several famous works have been preserved because of books, which have high historical value. There are many mistakes in Sikuquanshu and several versions based on it, and the proper names have been translated, which looks completely different. Tong Yuan Yi Hai (1335) Jian 'an Shi Yu Friends Bookstore printed by Zhonghua Book Company 1962 is the best edition of this book.
