Wang Meng (19341June 15-), a native of Nanpi, Hebei, and a native of Beijing. He is a contemporary writer and scholar in China. He used to be Minister of Culture of People's Republic of China (PRC), member of the Standing Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference, director of the Committee of Literature and History of China People's Political Consultative Conference, and vice chairman of the Chinese Writers Association.

He is the author of hundreds of novels, such as Long Live Youth and Activity Becoming Human. His works reflect the bumpy course of China people. He is optimistic and full of passion, and has become one of the most prolific writers in contemporary literary world, and has always maintained his creative vitality. 20 1010/5, boarded the "2010 Fifth Rich List of Chinese Writers" and became the focus of attention from all walks of life. On August 2015 16, Wang Meng's work "The Scenery Here" won the 9th Mao Dun Literature Prize.
