Did China Customs Anti-smuggling Department win the United Nations Asian Environmental Law Enforcement Award for the first time?
According to the General Administration of Customs, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific recently awarded the Anti-smuggling Bureau of China Customs and its director, Liu Xiaohui, two awards for Asian environmental law enforcement, in recognition of China Customs' efforts and contributions in maintaining ecological security. This is the first time that the anti-smuggling department of China Customs has won this honor.

The Asian Environmental Law Enforcement Award was established by the United Nations Environment Programme to commend and reward Asian organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in combating environmental pollution crimes.

It is understood that China Customs has organized and launched a series of large-scale special struggles and joint actions against smuggling, such as "Guo Dun", "Hedge", "National Sword" and "Blue Sky", focusing on cracking down on illegal and criminal activities such as solid waste smuggling, and investigated and dealt with a number of major cases with international influence. At the same time, it has jointly rectified illegal activities such as solid waste smuggling, illegal disposal and illegal operation with environmental protection, quality inspection and public security departments.

In the past ten years, the national customs anti-smuggling department has filed more than 700 cases of smuggling solid waste and chemicals, and verified 2.37 million tons of solid waste and 9,700 tons of ODS substances that destroy the ozone layer.

Congratulations to China Customs Anti-smuggling Bureau!
