Liu and his younger brother, Liu, played ball games since childhood in order to achieve the goal of winning the world championship set by their father. He successively moved to Henan and Bayi team. When his younger brother, who is two years younger than him, has become the main force of the China men's team, and Liu felt that he was drifting away from the world champion, he gave up coaching.
Liu led the team to achieve such excellent results, which shows its teaching level. At the same time, in the past five years, in addition to paying close attention to training and strict management, he also watched the Qatar World Table Tennis Championships, the Athens Olympic Games and the Shanghai World Table Tennis Championships with the national team at his own expense during the league truce, and learned from the national team to master a higher level of training and team management experience, which is a deeper accumulation he has done for himself.
Early experience
He once founded Beijing Guo Liang Table Tennis Club and served as the coach of Shaanxi Yinhe Guo Liang Club and Shaanxi Shan Zhi Liang Dong Club. In 2000, Liu had a new life goal. He wants to set up a table tennis club. This move has the full support of parents and younger brother. The club used his brother's name, and he borrowed the start-up capital from his brother for the first time.
After five years' efforts, Sanyi partners of the club started their business from south to north, and settled in Xi 'an in 2003 to establish Shaanxi Yinhe Guo Liang Club. In three years, as the head coach, he led the team to complete three leaps from the success in 2004, to the third place in 2005 and then to the champion in 2006!
