Wei Xueyi (about 1596—— about 1625), whose real name was Amethyst and Mao Yan, was born in Jiashan (now Jiaxing, Zhejiang) in the late Ming Dynasty, and was an essayist in the late Ming Dynasty. He is the eldest son of Wei Dazhong, a famous local scholar and Amin's minister. His life is short, he has never been an official, but he likes studying and writing, and he has written Mao Yan Collection. In Qing Dynasty, Zhang Chao's The Story of a Nuclear Ship is his masterpiece.
