NPC deputy inquiry case
At the Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province, the first inquiry case appeared in the city's history.

The first question directly refers to the solid disease of funeral management in Liaoyang City. Over the years, the management and service level of Liaoyang Funeral Service Center is not high, the number of staff has more than doubled (the number of staff is 70, and the existing staff is more than 160), the financial management is chaotic, and the debt is increasing year by year, so that funeral supplies are monopolized, the price is too high, and the funeral home does not buy the urn of the funeral home, so the people have great opinions on this, and even some people can't afford to die, and the living can't eat the dead.

Wang Wei and other 16 NPC representatives jointly submitted the Inquiry on Strengthening the Construction and Management of Funeral Services in our city, asking Liaoyang Civil Affairs Bureau to answer many problems existing in the construction and management of funeral service centers and solve them effectively.

On behalf of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Kan Xingren, director of the Civil Affairs Bureau, answered questions at the meeting of the Internal Affairs and Justice Committee of the Municipal People's Congress-taking the questions of the deputies seriously, finding out the reasons from the funeral service center, and through restructuring and streamlining personnel, asking the Price Bureau to conduct a major inspection on the prices of funeral supplies in the near future, publicizing the approved price list on the wall, and strictly strengthening management in all aspects in future work to satisfy the people of the city and deputies to the National People's Congress.

At the defense meeting, 16 NPC deputies voted on the answer sheet by secret ballot. Finally, the reply of the Civil Affairs Bureau was passed with the satisfaction rate of 100%.

The deputy mayor who attended the question and answer session still made a statement at the meeting: this first question made him deeply educated, and the problems reflected by the delegates hit the nail on the head, and the government's supervision was very timely and accurate. This is the achievement of promoting the construction of democracy and legal system, and it is also a great progress and breakthrough for NPC deputies to exercise their power. Liaoyang Municipal People's Government should seriously govern for the people, earnestly represent the interests of the people, accept people's supervision, and be responsible to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the people of the city.
