On a quiet morning, former UN investigator Gary Lane (Brad Pitt) drives out with his wife Karen (mireille enos) and his two daughters Rachel (Abigail hargrove) and Connie (Sterling Jerins). Unexpectedly, the original happy atmosphere was quickly replaced by panic and death. A series of explosions, frightened people fleeing everywhere, disorderly car accidents and zombie bites, the metropolis Boston fell in an instant. Gary tried his best to escape with his wife and daughter, and finally fled to the aircraft carrier where the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations was located, and then learned that the heads of several major countries, including the President of the United States, had died, and zombie viruses had spread all over the world. In order to prevent the destruction of the world, Gary was forced to go to the source of the virus with Dr. Farsback (Alice Gabel) from Harvard to find a way to alleviate the crisis. This is an almost hopeless and arduous journey, and the fate of the world is at stake.
