The Historical Evolution of Guang Ningxian
Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period: Guangning belongs to the scope of Lingnan Baiyue.

Qin Dynasty: In the thirty-third year of the first emperor (2 14 BC), Qin Shihuang sent troops south to establish Lingnan; The establishment of Nanhai, Guilin and Elephant Counties belongs to Nanhai County. By the end of Qin Dynasty, Zhao Tuo was called the King of South Vietnam according to Nanhai County. At the beginning of Han Dynasty, Nanyue State was established, and Quang Ninh was under its jurisdiction.

Han Dynasty: In the sixth year of Ding Yuan (1 1 1), South Vietnam was pacified and Nanhai and Cangwu counties were restored. Nanhai county led Panyu, Sihui and other six counties, and Sihui was established from then on. Guangning belongs to Sihui County.

During the Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty, Guangning still belonged to Sihui County.

Southern and Northern Dynasties: In the 13th year of Yuanjia in the Southern Song Dynasty (436), Suijian County was newly established, and Sihui County was set up in Zhao Xin, Huameng, Hua Mu and Zhu Hua. Guangning belongs to these four counties, and it belongs to Suijian County together with Sihui County. Zhao Xin County is located in Hengshan, Binheng and Wuhe, and the county seat is located in Miao Village. Huameng County is located in Jinnan Street, Dongxiang, Kengkou and Luogang, and the county seat is located in Dongxiang. Hua Mu County is located in today's Beicheng, Jiangtun, Lianhe, Tanbu and Gu Jiang, and the county belongs to Kanggu (now known as Gu Jiang, which belongs to Sihui County). Zhu Hua County is located in Shui Gu, Muge, Zhouzai, Shizui and Qinggui, and the county seat is located in Lvshui Village.

Southern and Northern Dynasties: Qi, Liang and Chen were still Sui County.

Sui Dynasty: Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty unified the whole country, ending the north-south division since the Eastern Jin Dynasty. At the beginning, it also followed the old system. In the ninth year (589), Suijian County was abolished, and Zhao Xin, Hua Mu and Zhu Hua counties were abolished. Sihui and Huameng County belong to Guangzhou, and Guangning belongs to these two counties.

Tang Dynasty: In the fifth year of Wude (622), Sihui County and Huameng County were transferred to Nansui Prefecture, and then Zhao Xin, North China and Hua Mu counties were re-transferred, and Guangning once again became a land of "one new and three modernizations". In the first year of Emperor Taizong's Zhenguan (627), he was recruited into Sihui and withdrew into Huameng. Nansui Prefecture leads Sihui, Huameng and Hua Mu counties, and Quang Ninh belongs to these three counties. In the eighth year of Zhenguan (634), Nansui Prefecture was changed to Zhou Zhen, and the county remained unchanged. During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, Sihui and Huameng belonged to Guangzhou in the Southern Han Dynasty.

Song Dynasty: In the fourth year of Emperor Taizu (97 1), he withdrew Mongolia and Hua Mu to join Sihui, which belonged to Guangzhou, and Guangning belonged to Sihui, and moved to Guangzhou.

In the sixth year of Zong Shenxi Ning (1073), Sihui was assigned to Duanzhou (later renamed Zhaoqing House). Guangning belongs to Sihui and Li Duan.

Yuan Dynasty: Sihui County belongs to Zhaoqing Road. At that time, Zhaoqing was under the jurisdiction of Guangnan West Road (Guangxi), so Sihui belonged to Guangxi at that time. Later, Zhaoqing was placed under Guangnan East Road (Guangdong) and Jiangxi Province. Guang Ningxian remains the same.

Ming Dynasty: In the first year of Hongwu (1368), Liao Yongzhong, the general of the Southern Expedition, led an army into Guangdong, and decided that Sihui County still belonged to Zhaoqing Prefecture and Guangning belonged to Sihui. In the thirty-first year of Sejong Jiajing (1552), the northwest of Sihui County (now Guangning) was in turmoil for years, and the oppressed Han and Yao people rose up constantly, gaining momentum and making it difficult for local officials to calm down. In the thirty-sixth year of Jiajing, Tang Kai and Wang Yi, military officers of Guangdong and Guangxi, successively led more than 70,000 Ming troops to suppress the rebellion. In the thirty-eighth year of Jiajing, Wang Yi and Governor Xu Ju adopted the suggestion of Lu Yi, the magistrate of Zhaoqing, and designated Guang Ningxian as the capital of Taiping, Olive, Dapu and Yongyi counties in Sihui County. Taking the meaning of wide harmony, that is, "Guangning" means "wide harmony", and Guangning was established. After its establishment, it still belongs to Zhaoqing Prefecture.

Qing dynasty: along the Ming dynasty, it still belongs to Zhaoqing prefecture.

Republic of China: After the founding of the Republic of China, the Qing dynasty began, and then the state and government were abolished, and roads and districts were established. In the third year of the Republic of China (19 14), Guangdong was divided into six roads, and Guangning belonged to Guangdong Sea Road. In 9 years of the Republic of China, the whole province was divided into four recovery areas, and Guangning belonged to the northwest appeasement area. In 25 years of the Republic of China, the appeasement district was abandoned and changed into nine administrative supervision departments, with Guang Ningxian as the third administrative district.
