German champions and their achievements in World War II
The SS is also divided into first-line and second-line troops. The combat effectiveness of the frontline troops is not generally strong (the soldiers recruited must be physically strong, above 180cm, pure Aryans, Nazi Party party member). It is better to give priority to the most advanced weapons. However, in the early days of the war, the participating troops of the SS did not perform well (without weapons superiority and lack of military training), but they were the absolute main force in the middle and late stages, which was a more objective evaluation of combat effectiveness. (does not represent an opinion)

First SS 2nd Armored Division (Empire)

The Imperial Division was regarded as the trump card of the Waffen-SS. As the earliest division-level unit of the Waffen-SS, if it was not for the expansion of the later "Adolf Hitler" Leibstandarte, it occupied the first position of the Imperial Division, otherwise it would be the first in terms of qualifications and meritorious military service. 1。 Like the Leibstandarte, the members of the Imperial Division were all ethnic, ideological and military elites in the eyes of the Nazi Party, and Himmler had high hopes for them. However, at first, the National Defence Forces did not agree with this, thinking that they were just a group of political thugs. However, under the careful training of Paul Hausel, the Imperial Division quickly grew into a professional army that was absolutely loyal to the Nazi Party and full of adventurous spirit.

After the outbreak of World War II, the Imperial Division participated in all major battles except Norway and North Africa, especially in the "Typhoon Action" that captured Moscow, becoming the only division-level combat unit of the Waffen-SS. Whether as a depth charge when attacking or as a fire brigade when losing, the Imperial Division's outstanding performance in the war finally won the respect of its colleagues in the National Defence Force. I don't think there should be any dispute that the German army ranked first in combat effectiveness in World War II.

Second SS 5th Armored Division (Viking)

The Viking division is a very famous division in the German SS. The division was established in 1940 and 65438+February, and its basic composition is the "German" regiment, mainly composed of volunteers from the occupied countries. 194 1 1 was renamed "Weijing" and was organized into two groups: Nordland group with 294 Norwegian volunteers, westland group with 2 16 Danish volunteers, and Nordstrom group with Dutch and Finnish volunteers. The first commander of the Viking Division was Admiral felix steiner. This is the first SS combat division in the German army composed of non-Germans. Soon this division was regarded as the first-class combat readiness division of the German army.

From the beginning of 1942, the division began their most prosperous three-year performance. At this time, the Viking Division was supplemented by an armored regiment. Then the Viking Division cooperated with 13 armored division and 125 infantry division to attack the Caucasus and enter Rostov, Kuban and Trak River. 1August, 942, Viking Division conquered Maikepu Oilfield. 1Before the spring of 943, the Viking Division had been fighting in the Caucasus. In the Viking Division, combat troops were frequently mobilized. Its subordinate "Nordland" regiment was transferred out to form a new SS division. And many Nordic troops are often incorporated into the Viking Division, including Norwegians and Estonians.

After the Battle of Stalingrad, the Viking Division was in danger of being surrounded by Soviet troops on three sides and had to start to retreat to the north. 1943 In March, Nordland troops of Viking Division were separated and a new SS-Nordland Division was established. Finnish troops were also transferred, but they were replaced by an Estonian battalion "Nava" and more recruits from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. 1943 10, the Viking division was officially built into a fully armored division. 1In the summer and autumn of 943, the Viking Division participated in a series of defensive wars in Kharkov and Dnieper. When the Soviet Red Army launched a large-scale attack on the German Central Army Group in June 1944, the Viking Division, like many other German divisions, had no choice but to retreat to Germany. At the beginning of 1944, the Viking Division (it was also reported that only its subordinate French brigade "Volu" was surrounded by Soviet troops in the pocket of Cherkassel, and only the Viking Division was an armored division in the encirclement, so it tried to break through the encirclement as a vanguard assault force. Although "Viking" division finally rushed out of the encirclement, but at the cost of losing all armored weapons and a lot of other equipment, including heavy casualties. Only 35,000 of the 56,000 Germans surrounded by Cherkasser were able to break through.

The remnants of the Viking division protruding from Cherkassel's pocket were transferred to Poland and reorganized into the fifth Viking armored division of the SS. By this time, the Soviets had pushed all the way to the Vistula River and headed for Warsaw. The Viking Division cooperated with the 3rd Skull Armored Division of SS and the Wehrmacht 19 Armored Division to stop the Soviet advance. The Viking Division fought hard and finally resisted the attack of the Red Army and drove the Soviet troops out of the Vistula River (this front was not broken by the Soviet troops until 1945 65438+ 10). 1944 12, the Viking division was evacuated from Warsaw to Budapest, Hungary. According to the above instructions, they want to break through the encirclement formed by the Soviet Union in Budapest and rescue the 45,000 Germans trapped. Due to the superiority of the Soviet army in all aspects, the Viking division was still unable to break into Budapest after two weeks of hard work, so it had to move to the west of Budapest to participate in the defense. The division also participated in the "Baronton Lake Counter-offensive" that the Germans failed in early 1945. Finally, the division surrendered to the Soviet Union in Czechoslovakia in May 1945. The Viking Division is a famous SS unit in Germany. In addition to participating in a lot of brutal battles, there is another reason that most of its soldiers are not Germans, but volunteers from other Western European and Nordic countries.

General comment: SS Weijing division participated in many bloody battles on the Eastern Front, and its combat effectiveness was considerable. If we want to list the fighters with the strongest fighting capacity in the Nazi German SS, I think they should rank in the top five, but as a division mainly composed of foreign volunteers, such fighting capacity deserves extra points. Therefore, I personally put it in the second place, and I believe it will not cause too many objections. Excerpted from the website of Armored Wars.

The Third Panzergrenadier Division of the SS 1 1 (Northern Europe)

Just look at the performance of this army in the defence of Berlin and you will know what kind of ace army they are. On April 7th, 1945 supplemented the armored forces of Nordland Division (another name for Nordland Division), including 26 No.3 assault guns (24 guns are available) and 10 No.4 Armored Regiment SS503 1 1. On April 17, the Soviet army launched a general attack on Berlin, and the "Nordland" division became the reserve of the 9th Army, and together with the 56th Army, which suffered heavy losses, defended the Strasbourg position in the west of Berlin. Soviet armored forces flooded in, and "Nordland" fell into a heavy encirclement. After a bloody battle, it miraculously broke through the southwest encirclement and successfully retreated to downtown Berlin on April 23. On April 26th, the remnants of "Nordland", led by the new commander Gustav Kurgenberg's SS Brigade, continued the hopeless defensive war on Bodhi Street in the southeast of the Prime Minister's Office with the last Tiger King tanks and assault guns. The next day, most of the remaining troops retreated to the government area and retreated to the Capitol on the 27th. From 27th to 30th, the defenders in the last few kilometers were dying, and some soldiers even locked themselves on the base of the machine gun in the stronghold! ! !

After Hitler committed suicide on April 29th, most German defenders began to surrender. Only the SS, the French Volunteers and the Nordland Division stayed to defend the city center. On may 1 day, the Ministry ordered soldiers not to take a step back and defend harinze station. At that time, the armored forces were five Tiger King tanks, six No.4 tanks/assault guns and a small number of "hunter" expulsion tanks. Late at night on May 2, the last line of defense collapsed. The die-hards of Nordland Division finally refused to work hard and tried to rush out of Berlin with the last two Tiger King tanks as the guide. As a result, all the tanks were destroyed, and a small number of soldiers crossed the Elbe River to surrender to the Allies. Most of them were killed or captured by the Soviet Union in the center of Berlin.

evaluate

The SS Panzergrenadier Division Nordland 1 1 owns 3 1 knights or higher medal holders, but its designation is sandwiched between SS Fort bruns Division 10 and SS Youth Division 12. It should be said that "Nordland" is a rare elite among SS foreign volunteers. Its armor strength is far less than that of ss 5th Armored Division "Viking", but its record is not inferior. Therefore, some historians even think that "Nordland" is the strongest foreign volunteer strategist of the SS. The purpose of "Nordland" defending Berlin at the end of the war is also an unsolved mystery. Excerpted from the website of Armored Wars.

The 7th Armored Division of the Fourth Defence Force

At the beginning of the French campaign, the division was fully reorganized according to the establishment of armored divisions. Strengthen the 66th Armored Battalion and form the 25th Armored Regiment, with three armored battalions under its jurisdiction. The sixth and seventh infantry regiments were also reorganized into the sixth and seventh mechanized infantry regiments under the command of the seventh mechanized infantry brigade.

On February 1940, Major General Owen Rommel took over the command of the 7th Armored Division from storm. During this period, PzKw38(t) tanks replaced most of the old tanks, especially Type I tanks. The performance of the 38(t) tank is far superior to the original I and II tanks, and its firepower is equivalent to that of the III tank, but its artillery has a longer range. On the eve of the invasion of France, a motorized heavy artillery company (equipped with 150mm self-propelled artillery) was strengthened to the 7 th armored division. This reorganization has significantly improved the tank combat capability of the division, and the number of tanks has reached about 180.

Only 2624 people were killed or injured and 42 tanks were lost in the French campaign, so it won the title of "the devil's teacher".

On the Russian plain, the 7th Armored Division, like a "fire brigade", often helps the infantry division in front to deal with the Soviet counterattacks.

Primary prevention:194142 in winter and 1942 in spring.

The third armored division was attacked by the Soviets, but the seventh armored division was not attacked. Due to fatigue and loss, the 7th Division retreated on February 6th, 65438. Finally, a 1 defense line was established along Lima. However, at this time, the 7 th armored division, like most divisions, was just a battle group: only 1000 infantry and several tanks. In order to stop the Soviet army, the division fought hard until March 1942. Reinforcements finally arrived, including 40 tanks. Victory on May 2nd. After that, the troops left the ninth army and were transferred back to France to rest and supplement. In the first year in Russia, the division lost 9,200 people, of whom 265,438,000 were killed.

Return to the East Line in Winter 1942/43

After a long journey, 65438+1 October15, the 7th Armored Division arrived in the Don River valley in southern Russia, and on the 6th, it went to the northeast of Forchester, where it joined forces with a unit of the 3rd Guards of the Soviet Union. Although some victories were achieved, the division was withdrawn after 65438+1October 20th, and stayed near voroshilovgrad and Slavan, fighting for several days. By February of 15, the division was reorganized from the defense line and transferred to the 3rd Panzer Corps of 1 Panzer Group Army. At this time, the Soviet army began the last part of the winter offensive, with the goal of destroying the southern army group.

Kursk 1943

1In the summer of 943, the German summer offensive was launched.1On July 5, 943, the "fortress" operation was prepared. After the battle began, the 7th Armored Division was the only unit in the 3rd Armored Army that made progress. When the infantry attacked for the first time, the 25th Armored Regiment also broke through the T-34 defense in a tank battle. Now the Sixth Armored Division 1 1 Armored Regiment is advancing with the Seventh Armored Division, and these two forces have been winning. However, on the third day. Even though the 7th Division won these victories, the 3rd Armored Division was still unable to break through the Soviet defense, and then it turned to the north to attack, with the 7th Division as flank support. Six days later, the attack continued. After the 6 th armored division fought fiercely with the enemy, the 7 th division rushed to the front again and occupied Donaz. But it's too late. The Soviets won the overall victory of the salient. At this time, the allied forces landed in Sicily, and the fortress operation was terminated.

Heading north 1944

On June 2 1, 1944, the Soviet Red Army launched its largest summer offensive "Bagration", and the Central Army Group suffered heavy losses. Within a week, three armies were almost wiped out, and 24 German divisions were lost, leaving a gap hundreds of kilometers wide on the defense line. The Soviets are pouring in quickly through this hole, so the Germans moved from other fronts and the troops rushed to Belarus. The 7th Armored Division was also transported by train from Lunbao (now Lviv, Ukraine) to Rida, 30 kilometers behind the front line. The first unit of the Ministry arrived on July 5 and was immediately sent to Horzani, belonging to the 39th Armored Army of the 4th Army. In fact, the 4th Army was surrounded and annihilated to the east of Minsk, so the two wings of the armored army did not get in touch with neighboring countries, so the 7th and 5th armored divisions tried their best to resist. However, in order to avoid being surrounded, we still retreated step by step with the armored forces. On July 9, we finally got in touch with other troops, crossed the Nieman River and arrived near Olita, where we fought in June 194 1. From July 12 to 24, the troops built a bridgehead on the east coast and belonged to the 3rd Armored Army. At this time, the northern wing of the army has completely lost contact with the northern army group 16, so there is a huge gap between these forces. The 7th Division is stationed here, just in case of accidents, which is expected to bridge the gap.

The 7th Division was ordered to attack Pang Zhewei, but the troops could not be assembled according to the regulations, because the initial areas of the planned attack had been occupied by the Soviet Union, and if they wanted to attack, they had to be recaptured. After retaking these places, it is estimated that the troops have no ability to continue attacking and have to cancel the order. From July 28th to August 1 day, the 7th Division continued to retreat step by step, crossed the Pisa River, and fought fiercely with Soviet troops in Lhasa until August 15.

Battalion 2 of 25th Armored Regiment didn't take part in this final battle, because it was left in Olita and didn't return to the team until August 18. Fortunately, 1 Battalion returned to the team on July 18 and changed into a "Leopard" tank, while Battalion 2 still used No.4 tank.

The last battle 1945

Before the Red Army started a new attack, the 7th Armored Division was stationed in Qin Tsanov as the reserve of the 2nd Army. On the first day of the Soviet attack, the 7 th Division tried to launch a counterattack, but the Soviet army was too strong, and the counterattack had almost no impact. Later, he launched many counterattacks with the Great German Division and the 18 Panzergrenadier Division. Although the Soviet army could not be stopped, it still covered some troops to retreat to the Russian army. Although the 7th Armored Division launched a rescue operation and captured the last city on February 9th, this part of the front was quiet for nearly a month, but by this time the 2nd Army had been completely cut off. The whole 2nd Army, including the 7th Armored Division, was gradually compressed to the coastal area near Danzig.

The 7th Panzer Corps, including the 7th Panzer Division, was forced to move to Gotthafen, and finally retreated to Hofter Peninsula in August, where the remaining tanks were abandoned. Then, on April 5-6, 1945 was transported to Haila Peninsula. 10 days later, split (actually only one name is left). /kloc-evacuate to Svimod after 0/0, and stay until April 18/ 19. It was transported by train to Valen-Panzlin, belonging to the 3rd Armored Army, and actually had no fighting capacity. On May 3rd, 1945, the 7th Armored Division surrendered to the American and British troops.

General comment: Although the 7th Armored Division is the second batch of armored divisions, as a direct unit trained by Rommel, they showed extraordinary combat effectiveness, and their offensive strength was tested in the French campaign. On the Russian plain, No.7 showed defensive perseverance. However, it is still not as good as the status of the SS troops, and there is a gap in equipment update or supplement. Under such a gap, they still have extraordinary fighting capacity, which is enough for them to enjoy the five main forces of the German army.

The Third Armored Division of the Fifth SS (Skull)

After the Polish campaign, some Waffen-SS divisions were established. The Third Waffen-SS Division consists of some "backbone" troops who participated in the Polish campaign, the reserves of domestic "backbone" organizations and other auxiliary forces of the Waffen-SS. Some of them came from the Waffen-SS "Heimwell Danzer", which was originally the "Gezer" of the Waffen-SS Skull Camp, and was renamed as "Heimwell Danzer" after expansion, with a scale between the battalion and the regiment. This unit took part in the Polish campaign under the command of the army, and then transferred some troops as the backbone of the newly established "Skeleton" Division. Skull and Bones Division was established at the Waffen-SS training base near Dachau, and then received further training in Wü rttemberg and Truppen Ubenslatz Obermongsingen. After the training, Theodor Eicke was officially appointed as the division commander. He was originally the commander-in-chief of the domestic "skeleton" organization.

1February, 943, the division returned to the eastern front to join the southern army group. Then he took part in the counterattack against the Soviet winter offensive (the Sixth Army was completely annihilated in Stalingrad). In the second battle of Kharkov, he joined the southern counter-offensive forces and recovered Kharkov with outstanding achievements. During this period, the teacher Ike died in battle. After that, he participated in the Battle of Kursk, and participated in several most important and bloody battles along the southern line with his SS brothers (including the tank battle in Prodjorovka). After the battle, the "Skull" Division, as the Eastern Front Reserve Team (Fire Brigade), moved to the southern and central parts of the Eastern Front for nearly a year. During this period,1June, 943, it was reorganized into an armored division, and its name was also changed to the "Skull" armored division of the 3rd Waffen-SS.

During the period of 1944, the situation on the entire eastern front became very bad, and the Soviet army made breakthroughs in every section. Especially on the central front, the Soviet army defeated the German Central Army Group in the biggest offensive in World War II and advanced more than 300 kilometers in two weeks. When the offensive stopped, they had crossed the Vistula River and stood at the gate of Warsaw. In order to cooperate with the advance of the Soviet Union, an uprising broke out in Warsaw. The Skull Division and other troops rushed to Warsaw together, which stopped the advance of the Soviet Union and suppressed the uprising (apart from moral factors, it has to be said that this is a very remarkable military achievement, the rear is unstable and it is not easy to face strong enemies). Nearly two Soviet army groups were repelled by Skull Armored Division, Viking Division and Army 19 Armored Division, and were forced to retreat to the other side of the Vistula River.

Subsequently, the division was sent to the south to participate in the Budapest war. In order to rescue the besieged 45,000 German troops, the Skull Division has been attacking Budapest Airport, but it has never been able to achieve its goal due to the strong strength and resource advantages of the Soviet Union. The history of the war is also controversial, because the division withdrew from the vicinity of the airport and launched an attack north of Budapest, hoping to surround and destroy some Soviet troops, but failed. If we continue to attack from the airport, it is possible to open channels for the besieged troops, but this is another story. )

Since then, the division has been conducting defensive operations in western Budapest and has been retreating to the vicinity of Vienna. The division surrendered to the U.S. on May 9, 1945, but was handed over to the Soviet Union as a prisoner of war.

Evaluation: They participated in almost all German military operations on the Eastern Front, except that they retreated to France and escaped from Stalingrad after being hit hard by 4 1. Others are the famous Kharkov, Kursk and so on without exception. You can always see them and the "Viking Division" in the most dangerous section of the East Line. Their fighting tenacity is among the best among all 1 1 SS armored divisions.

Let me give an example of war.

Battle of Yenia, Imperial Teacher

With the launch of the "Barbarossa" plan, the German army advanced rapidly on the vast land of the Soviet Union, and the Soviet army retreated thousands of miles, and the surprise attack achieved brilliant results.

1941July, the Germans approached Smolensk, the last fortress in front of Moscow. In order to defend the last gate in front of Moscow, the Soviet army made a desperate resistance. Guderian's armored cluster can't get rid of the Soviet pursuit and containment. After more than a month of continuous fighting, he was forced to stop attacking and turn to defense.

At the end of August, the reserve army under the command of zhukov saw the German offensive momentum weakening, and launched a large-scale counterattack. The main goal was the needle of the Central Army Group-Yernia projection. The fighting was fierce, and the Soviets stormed the German defense line in Yernia at all costs. German 10 armored division and 17 motorized infantry division resisted tenaciously, but suffered heavy losses and were forced to turn to the rear to rest.

On August 28th, Hausel, the commander of Imperial Division, suddenly received an order from guderian, demanding that the division immediately end the rest ahead of schedule and go to Yernia to replace 17 motorized infantry division. This is a first-class ace army, known as the "flower of the empire". In Hitler's eyes, the "Flower of the Empire" is invincible and will never fail. Sure enough, after receiving the order of 12 hours, the high-quality SS platoon made all the preparations for the battle and went to the front to meet the Soviets overnight. General guderian's sharpest sword will be drawn again! The high command of the National Defence Force also placed high hopes on the Imperial Division, and specially sent planes to drop leaflets to encourage the soldiers of the Imperial Division to carry forward the glorious tradition and defeat the Soviet Union with heroic spirit of winning without fighting. At the end of the leaflet, the Fuehrer is waiting for the news of your victory! After a month of repeated battles and victories, the morale of the officers and men of the "Imperial" division was in full swing. Just after a break, the lost soldiers were replenished and the equipment damaged by the war was basically replenished. Hausel is more confident to repel all the shocks of the Soviet Union.

The "Imperial" division marched all the way to the front line, and there was hardly a standing tree near the position. Several commanding heights seem to have been cut by gunfire about 1 meter! Most of the fortifications they built a month ago have been overturned by shells and many trenches have been leveled. He grabbed a handful of dirt, but there were four or five shrapnel. The previous battle was extremely tragic.

17 the motorized infantry division has completely withdrawn from its position, leaving only one staff officer to change shifts with Hausel. The staff looked at the ace teacher in front of him with shame and said, "The Russians are crazy! They left all the Soviet shells here! We suffered too many casualties, almost all heavy weapons were destroyed, several major commanders were injured, and the Soviet army used many tanks. . . . . . .

Hausel immediately told him to leave the position, and then ordered the infantry regiment to take over the position and build fortifications. The tank regiment did not take part in the defense, and organized a tank reinforcement battalion to ambush the enemy's flank on the left side of the mountain. The remaining tanks are deployed in depth for artillery use, while waiting for the opportunity to launch anti-assault.

It's getting light, and many fortifications have not been strengthened enough. Scouts come to report that the Soviet tank regiment is moving to our position! The head of the Fuehrer's regiment immediately begged the tank to attack, but Hausel asked him to continue to wait for orders, and the infantry used fortifications to carry out anti-tank operations.

Soon, the sound of motor in front shook the earth, Soviet tanks gradually appeared on the horizon, and infantry soldiers were already ready to go, mobilizing anti-tank forces to stop the Soviet steel torrent. PAK35 37MM anti-tank gun is the main anti-tank weapon of Imperial Division Infantry Regiment, which can fire 37MM armor-piercing projectiles and super-caliber grenades, but the penetration of 37mm projectiles is not strong, and the hit rate of super-caliber grenades is low. So when dealing with the Soviet heavy tank KV- 1, he got the nickname "knocker". There are also several FLAK 18 88MM anti-aircraft guns.

Soviet tanks are getting closer and closer, and the leading tanks have begun to shell the fortifications on the hillside. The shells set off bursts of soil and splashed all over the German soldiers. Predica, the company commander of the anti-tank gun, hid his 10 PAK35 on the side of the position. He knew he shouldn't shoot in a hurry. His anti-tank gun is too weak to pose a threat to KV- 1, but it will expose the target and attract Soviet shells. “ 1000m! Eight hundred meters! . . . . . The rangefinder reported a new distance. The gunner is waiting, the company commander is waiting, and at the same time, all the anti-tank gunners in the position are waiting. 600 meters! The company commander suddenly shouted: "Armor piercing bullets! Set fire and shoot! " . With a burst of recoil, dozens of artillery they nest, two Soviet T-26s immediately paralyzed and stopped. One of them quickly ignited a fire and then exploded. But as soon as the gun rang and the position was exposed, the Soviet tanks immediately adjusted their formation. Several huge KV- 1 protect other tanks with mammoth bodies. In the second volley, I saw a KV- 1 jump slightly, but the others didn't respond. Armor thickness before 37MM cartridge case bounces off: kV-1100 mm.

"Use super-large caliber grenades!" The company commander gave a loud order. Before they could load the ammunition, the 76mm tank gun of KV- 1 "spoke" first, and two PAK 35s were immediately blown over, even the gunners were swallowed. A young gunner saw this horrible scene and stood still with a super-caliber Grenade. Seeing this, the company commander put a grabbed shell on the barrel and shouted, "Hey! If you don't want to be blown up, give me a good fight! ! "Super-caliber grenades were fired, only one KV- 1 was interrupted and stopped, and the rest were still approaching the position. Several more shells landed on the ground, killing more people than the last time. Seeing that the huge KV- 1 was getting closer and closer to him, the gunners of several cannons gave up shooting and fled the position with their heads in their arms. "These cowards!" The company commander grabbed a gunner: "You reload, I aim!" "The company commander personally manipulated the only PAK35 that was still firing. A T-26 was reimbursed after a few shots, but KV- 1 was getting closer and closer. 50 meters, 30 meters, 20 meters, KV- 1 can't fire any more. It will crush the cannon and two German soldiers with a body weighing more than 30 tons. The machine gun on the tank rang and the gunner was shot dead. The company commander still didn't retreat. Yes 10 meter. Fuoco! ! The last shell finally tore up the heavy armor of KV- 1 at close range, and the tank made a loud noise and caught fire. But another car had been run over, and the company commander jumped to one side and rolled into the trench. Looking back, the cannon was crushed into scrap iron.

Without the anti-tank gun position, the infantry on the position lost their fire cover, and the Soviet tanks bombarded the trenches and bunkers unscrupulously, and the position was about to fall. At this time, several 88MM anti-aircraft guns were pushed to the position, and finally a powerful weapon came, and immediately counterattacked! The powerful and long-range 88MM gun immediately exerted its power, quickly destroyed several T-26s, and then began to attack KV- 1. Soviet tanks lost their final impact at a distance of tens of meters from their positions. The rest of the tanks retreated immediately. The first engagement repelled the powerful charge of Soviet tanks, and Hauzer relaxed a little. He is preparing to chase the Soviet army with ambushed tanks. Suddenly, he felt that the Soviet retreat was very strange. Without artillery cover, he lost in a straight line. While he was hesitating, he suddenly heard a burst of thunder in the sky. He immediately understood that the Soviet Union had sent bombers. "All troops into position. Concealed! "

Soviet planes quickly flew over the positions and dropped bombs on German positions. German soldiers huddled in the trenches, and every explosion made them shudder and scream.

Soviet bombers dropped all the bombs and flew away. German soldiers had just poked their heads out of the trenches to catch their breath when Soviet artillery swept over again. Under the cover of heavy artillery fire, Soviet infantry launched a final attack and rushed to the position of the "Imperial" division. They are not afraid of sacrifice and go forward bravely. The "Imperial" Division has never experienced such a scene since the war (at this time, the "Imperial" Division did not perform well in the future battlefield and there were many new recruits in the army). Many young soldiers forgot to resist because of extreme fear, and many people hid in the trenches and cried loudly. Soviet infantry is getting closer and closer to the position. At this critical juncture, the company commander stepped forward and led a group of veterans who were not afraid of death to the front of the position, set up MG-34 and swept it with MP-40. One row of people was knocked down, and the other row continued to fight with guns until the barrel was hot and swollen. In this way, seven powerful Soviet troops were charged by the "Imperial" division, and rows of Soviet soldiers were wiped out in front of the position. On several occasions, the Soviets had rushed into the positions, but after a short hand-to-hand battle, they were driven out by the Germans, and the positions were full of bodies.

The Soviet artillery strength gradually weakened and the charge began to weaken. It's time for a showdown! The German tanks lying in ambush on the left side of the mountain left the ambush site like arrows, pouncing on the exhausted Soviet troops and attacking their flanks. The Soviet T-26 was no longer an opponent of the German III tanks, and the infantry was defeated, lost its cover and was wiped out one by one. Soviet assault troops suffered heavy losses. The "Imperial" Division won a brilliant victory here.
