Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe was reorganized on the basis of the original Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe in June, 200012000, after adjusting and enriching a group of young and middle-aged artists. The troupe, formerly known as Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Youth Troupe and Guangzhou Experimental Cantonese Opera Troupe, has been aiming at exploring the reform and innovation of Cantonese opera art and cultivating talents for many years. Xian Naihong, a famous Cantonese opera artist, once served as artistic director.
Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe has persistent artistic pursuit and distinctive artistic style on the road of development. Inheriting the tradition, it treats the traditional repertoire and performance techniques with the artistic concept of "sublation", and strives to take its essence and turn the classics into simplicity. This Cantonese opera has accumulated countless experiences and made gratifying achievements in the future.
During its development, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe has performed and accumulated a number of plays with different styles, such as Legend of the White Snake, Goddess of Heaven (adapted from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice), Daughter Fragrance, Wuqi and the Princess, the Queen of South Vietnam, Wang Rui and Zhuang Fei, and the fate of the earth. Among them, Legend of the White Snake and Daughter Xiang are enduring plays. Many of his plays have won many awards, and all walks of life and the media have fully affirmed the performance of the troupe.
The troupe has many famous artists such as Ni Huiying, Sun, Deng and He Yuqing. And there are a number of excellent music and stage art, lighting, clothing technicians. In the long-term performance, the troupe won the support of Cantonese opera lovers with its strong performance strength and rigorous stage presentation.
The troupe has performed in the United States, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao and other countries and regions for many times, and they have been warmly welcomed and enjoyed a good reputation at home and abroad. Guangzhou is the birthplace of Cantonese Opera. Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe is worthy of this long-standing, profound and suitable art for all ages. 1995 Guangdong International Art Festival performed a large-scale historical Cantonese opera "Wang Rui and Zhuang Fei", which won nine awards in one fell swoop and was invited to perform in the third China Hong Kong Art Festival, which received rave reviews. At the 5th China Drama Festival, he performed a modern Cantonese opera "Tu Yuan" with the rural characteristics of the South China, and won six national awards such as Cao Yu Drama Award, Drama Award, Outstanding Supporting Actor Award and Outstanding Musical Singing Award, and won the "Five One Projects" award in Guangdong Province with 1999, and was admitted to Beijing to participate in the performance of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In 2002, a creative drama "Flower and Moon Shadow" will be released, telling the love story of a young officer Lin and a woman Du in the Liyuan. Lin and Du offended the company commander He Fu, and pirates attacked and demanded money, food and beautiful women. In order not to cause trouble, He Fu agreed to the pirates' demands one by one, and ordered Sheng Yuan to send Cai Wei to serve the pirates. Suicide on the way to bid farewell to relatives, Lin returned to the city to return to his old job and was dismissed. Suddenly Du is in sight.
