Focusing on Aunt Yao, played by Salina, whose husband has never achieved anything because of drinking, and six children with different personalities, it tells the joys and sorrows of the Lins' nine people, as well as the vicissitudes and fate in the past 30 years, thus showing the great changes of the whole China society since the reform and opening up.

Through Aunt Yao's family, we can see not only her family's life, but also the indomitable, stormy and soul-stirring struggle road that China people have gone through in these 30 years. 1978.
