About what? Spring and autumn five tyrants? There are many sayings in history, and two of them have the highest recognition. One is "looking for historical records"? Qi Huangong, Song Xianggong, Jin Wengong, Qin Mugong, Chu Zhuangwang; The second is Xunzi? Wang Ba? Qi Huangong, Jin Wengong, Chu Zhuangwang, King He Lv of Wu, King Gou Jian of Yue. Therefore, for Qi Huangong, nature is recognized as the first of the five tyrants in the Spring and Autumn Period. But in fact, before Qi Huangong, there was a saying that Zheng Zhuanggong was the overlord in the Spring and Autumn Period, that is, Zheng Zhuanggong took the lead in dominating the Spring and Autumn Period. So, here's the problem. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Zheng Zhuanggong and Qi Huangong successively dominated. Why did they only last a lifetime?
one
First of all, no matter Zheng Zhuanggong or Qi Huangong, after their death, no descendants can maintain their hegemony, that is, in the Spring and Autumn Period, Zheng declined after Zheng Zhuanggong's death, and it was difficult for Qi to make a comeback after Qi Huangong. Investigate its reason, there is a very important and the same reason, that is, civil strife happened in Zheng and Qi. On the one hand, as far as Zheng Zhuanggong is concerned, Zheng Zhuanggong doted on many sons during his reign. This undoubtedly laid the groundwork for Zheng's civil strife.
Shortly after his death, after Zheng ascended the throne, the powerful minister was forced by his son's father-in-law, Yong Shi, to change his son from Zheng Wei. After losing the throne, Zheng fled to Weiguo. Soon, Zheng Ligong was dissatisfied with the fact that Jizhong was in charge of Zheng, so he murdered Jizhong. When the story came to light, Zhong You killed Yongzheng and welcomed Zheng to reset. However, for Zheng, he ascended the throne for the second time, but he still failed to secure Zheng's throne. Because Zheng had a personal feud with Gao Qiu, Gao Qiu shot Zheng in a hunting. After Zheng's death, Gao Qiu and Jizhong did not dare to meet the reset, so they made Gong self-proclaimed as the monarch of Zheng Zixu.

Qi Xianggong will be a vassal first, and Zheng Zixu will attend the alliance, and he will go to the secret ceremony. As a result, Zheng Zixu was killed, and then Gongziying became a monarch in Chen because of Zheng Ziying. Of course, Zheng's civil strife did not end there. Soon after, Qi attacked Zheng, and Zheng Ziying, Ji Zhong and Gao Qiu were all killed. Zheng ligong entered Zheng from the border town and was reset. In this regard, in the eyes of many historians, after several battles for the throne, Zheng was not as good as before, and neighboring vassal States rose one after another. For example, Chu in the south has long ignored the orders of the Zhou royal family, and after seeking to seal the title, it became king on its own and directly faced Zheng. The state of Jin in the north is also growing stronger behind the wings of Quwo.
So for Zheng, it happened to be between Qi, Jin, Qin Chu and other big countries. Not only did it not have enough room for expansion, but it became a battlefield for princes to compete for hegemony. Moreover, if there were no civil strife after Zheng's death, it might still be able to maintain its hegemony, that is, Zheng could take the opportunity to expand into the surrounding areas and become a big country. However, the frequent replacement of several monarchs made Zheng lose a great opportunity to continue to rise. When he ascended the throne of Zheng again, the neighboring powers had already participated in feudal hegemony, which made Zheng have no advantage at all and had to struggle for survival in the cracks of hegemony.

On the other hand, the civil strife that happened after Zheng Zhuanggong's death was undoubtedly repeated in Qi after Qi Huangong. In the later period of Qi Huangong's reign, he reused the sons of governors such as Fang Zi, Yi Ya and Vertical Carving. With the successive deaths of Guan Zhong and Bao, Qi began to decline. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Guan Zhongli's son, Zhao, was entrusted to take care of him. In 643 BC, when he was seriously ill, the five sons (son Wu Kui, son Zhao, son Pan, son merchant) built a high wall in front of the bedroom for a position. 10, Qi Huangong starved to death. The five sons attacked each other and the state of Qi was in chaos.
As a result, just like Zheng after his death, the state of Qi after his death was also contested by various philosophers for the position of monarch, which led to continuous civil strife. In the civil strife, the original prince Zhao fled to the Song Dynasty. In the spring of 642, he joined forces with China, Japan and Guangguo and led an army to attack Qi, so as to help Zhao, the son of Zhao, return to China to fight for a position. In March, all the doctors in the State of Qi, under the leadership of the Guo family and the Gao family, were trapped and died, without any loss, to meet Prince Zhao. However, the followers of the other four sons attacked Prince Zhao, who had entered the territory of Qi State, and forced him to flee to Song State. Song Xianggong was naturally very dissatisfied with this situation, so he sent troops to attack Qi again, thus defeating Yu Cong, the son of Qi (now near Jinan, Shandong Province), and was able to enter Qi and acceded to the throne. In the eyes of many historians, after this turmoil, the national strength of Qi declined and the hegemony of Qi Huangong ended.
