He grew up in Yichang, Hubei Province, near the Yangtze River. After being admitted to Northeastern University, he became a famous "gifted boy" in the school. He has successively obtained bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctor's degree in computer application with excellent results, and was fortunate to be a doctoral student of Liu Jiren, vice president of Northeastern University and chairman of Neusoft Group. 1997 to 2002, Zhang successively served as general manager, business director, director of Qingdao development center, deputy general manager of mobile internet business department, and deputy general manager of Neusoft Communication Technology Co., Ltd., during which he was responsible for key projects of National Natural Science Foundation, 863 Plan and major technology development projects of State Economic and Trade Commission, which were well received by judges and experts.

He used to be the general manager of Neusoft Changchun Branch, the director of Qingdao Development Center, and the deputy general manager of Neusoft Nokia and Neusoft Mobile Internet Division. Since August 2002, he has served as Dean of Chengdu Neusoft Institute.
