Rao Shoukun was born in Dexing, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. He was born in 19 15. He joined the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants in 1932 and joined the Party in 1933. He has served as monitor, platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander, commander of independent division in northern Fujian, commander of northeast Fujian Army Division, commander of the New Fourth Army, and commander of the 18th Division of the Sixth Column of East China Field Army. After the founding of New China, he served as commander of the Seventh Fleet of the Navy in East China Military Region, commander of Wusong Fortress Area, commander of the Songhu Base of the Navy, deputy commander of the East China Sea Fleet of the Navy, president of the Seventh Research Institute of the Ministry of National Defense, commander of the North Sea Fleet and commander of jinan military area command. 1955 was awarded the rank of lieutenant general. He died in Jinan, Shandong Province on September 4th, 2006 at the age of 9 1. The memorial service was held in Jinan on September 20th.
