The construction of policies and regulations has been accelerated, the intensity of ecological protection and restoration has been continuously increased, the investigation, monitoring and evaluation of biodiversity have been promoted in an orderly manner, and the social participation and public awareness of biodiversity protection have been continuously improved.
Zhang Zhizhong, director of the Wildlife Protection Department of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, said that China has actively carried out wildlife protection and habitat restoration, effectively protecting 90% of vegetation types and terrestrial ecosystem types, 65% of higher plant communities and 85% of key protected wildlife populations.
