Synonym? Wuwei City in Gansu Province generally refers to Wuwei (People's Republic of China (PRC) (China), a city under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province).

Wuwei, abbreviated as Liang and Yong, was called Liangzhou, Yongzhou and Guzang in ancient times. It is the capital of northwest China and the hometown of Guo Liang. It is located at the intersection of the Loess Plateau, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Meng Xin Plateau. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, belonging to a temperate continental arid climate. It is characterized by four distinct seasons and Leng Xia is hot in winter. Jurisdiction 1 district 2 counties 1 autonomous county, with a total area of 33,238 square kilometers.

Wuwei has a long history. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sent Huo Qubing, an ancient general, to Hexi to defeat the Huns. In order to show the "martial arts and military strength" of the Han Empire, Wuwei was named. Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty opened four counties in Hexi, all previous dynasties have set up counties and houses here. Gansu Province is a prefecture-level city, named "China Wine City".

Wuwei City is the crossroads of the ancient Silk Road, and there are many places of interest in the territory. Snow plateau, oasis scenery, desert Gobi and other natural landscapes complement each other with history and culture and have high cultural tourism value. The geographical position is superior, with Lanzhou in the east, Xining in the south, Yinchuan and Inner Mongolia in the north and Xinjiang in the west.
