He is an American writer and illustrator. His novel Rowing into the Sea (194 1) won the Cadillac Award, Sailing with Seabirds (1948) and Minnie Crocodile's River Journey (195 1) won the Newbury Award.
Holling Clancy Holling was born in Jackson County in southern Michigan and graduated from art institute of chicago. 1923.
He once worked in the Department of Animal Specimen of the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, and studied anthropology under Ralph Linton (1893- 1954).
